I think he’s got the intangibles (and just enough tangibles) to get drafted, stick around for a while, and make some spot starts here and there. I don’t think he has the tangibles to be a long-term starter, unfortunately. Hope I’m wrong—I love that man. He’s my quarterback.

I am anxious to see how much improves from last year to this, however. Not only will he have another entire year of working with the same group of talented receivers and an offense more suited to his particular skills, but last year was the 1st time he was a starting quarterback since his SR year in high school in the fall of 2014. That’s a lot of rust to shake off. He should be much better this year for that fact alone. Put all that together and....I’m starting to get a Burrow-boner. And I am unashamed.

No, I don’t see anything special about Burrow. If you look at his statistics from last year he is an average SEC quarterback, which makes him an average college quarterback. How many average college quarterbacks flourish in the NFL? I know there are exceptions to the rule, but at this time, he couldn’t start at OSU and came to LSU because we didn’t have a good experienced quarterback so he won the job. I wish we would have decided to look to the future and develop one of the younger quarterbacks. Next year, we will not have a quarterback with any real-time experience. We are gambling on everything coming together this year on a average QB and an unqualified OC.

What exactly are you trying to say here? That Brennan should be playing instead of Burrow?

JB can do anything he puts his mind to do. The guy is a champion. A leader on the field. You definitely want him on your team. One tuff gutsy football player.
