I do indeed hope he winds up on the roster of the team he wants to play for. It's a dream all of us who ever played a pick-up game in front of the school on a Saturday wanted. Football would be so much better if each of the players got to play for the team they loved.

Of course, I can say stuff like this because I'm drinking good scotch on a Sunday evening and I won't remember this in the morning.

When did he ever say this? I agree we are getting ahead of ourselves and that there are several more games to play, but I think the OP has a valid point and don’t know why that can’t be discussed.

Joe would be a great fit with the Saints.

He’s literally from two hours away from Cincinnati.

He’s going to be playing for the team he probably grew up wanting to play.

After running joe Brady’s system for a year and probably one year left for Brees, everything else in place, the saints would be the absolute best spot for him. But he’s played too well to fall that far.

Eli wanted to play in the New York market and all the scrutiny that comes with it. How he went about it makes him a douche not a wuss lol.

This is a delusional as hell thread.

Burrow is a projected top pick and you guys want him to say no to every team until the late first round when the Saints pick?

Agreed. The Saints would have to trade up significantly to get him. I don't know that they would be inclined to do so, especially having Bridgewater as a good backup to Brees.

Joe would be a great fit for a lot of teams. Just because you want a player to go to your team doesn’t mean it’ll happen.

I want mccaffrey next year on my fantasy team. I’m drafting 14th.

But since I want him, he’s gonna fall to me

Bridgewater is going to get a shot to start somewhere next year. Saints won't pay that kind of money to keep him as a backup. Plus, they might get some trade value for him.

Eh. He moved there when he was in middle school or so. Could easily be a fan of some other team. And with a dad from Mississippi, wouldn't be shocked if if was the Saints. Not that that means dick in this situation. He wants to go get paid. If he can go take over for Brady or Brees, cool, but that shite ain't happening absent a catastrophe.

I bet he does. He has a great skill set that would match up with the Saints very well. When guys reach Burrow’s age the game becomes a business. Home town teams, and their favorite childhood team, means little. Being with a great offensive mind like Belichick or Payton is like hitting the lottery.

He's better off playing at Cincy than sitting at NOLA or the Pats for 2 or 3 years. He can renegotiate after 3 seasons, or get out of his contract after 4. He may stick with the Bengals. Who knows?

At the very worst, he'll get 25 million guaranteed (as a #1 draft pick). And another couple million or so each year for 4 years.

Joe will muddle through somehow.
