Can anyone support their officiating complaints with any actual data comparison?

If not where would one find such data?

How many players have been ejected for targeting total NCAA vs SEC?

How many in 1st vs 2nd half?

Which game and who was next opponent?

What teams have the most penalties and is there a trend? More penalties at away games or at home?

More or less penalties than average against specific teams?

I'm not sure if it's broken down exactly the way you're talking about but the teamrankings.com stats page seems to be pretty good with alot of interesting stats.

Not sure but it seems LSU probably leads in "multiple penalties lumped together" category. They've had 30yds and I believe last year they had 45yd total... all from one play.

I would have thought with all the officiating complaints someone has compiled and compared data.

I’m gonna pull a committee move here and say I use the eye test, and bama passes the eye test for getting breaks

ATVS did this a couple years back, the conclusion was that sec refs suck across the board

Unless you're watching all of the games how complete can your analysis be? No one watches all of the games.

a huge part of this is the situation when the penalty is called (or not called).
you would have to watch the game and make a subjective call based on every snap of every game.

example. let’s say a “questionable” holding call

Calling holding on team A when they gain 1 yard on their side of the 50 early in 2nd quarter.

vs.

Calling holding against team B on a lead changing TD scoring play inside of 2 minutes left in game.

both show as 1 penalty for 10 yards on the stat sheet, but they have a hugely different impact on the game.

same would apply on similar plus as above except with a no-call rather than a flag being tossed.

I do remember that every team in the SEC had players ejected for targeting (most teams had multiple guys who had been bounced and Vandy had two in one half) before Bama ever had 1 player ejected for targeting. But I don't know about between conferences.

That's not asking that much if we had the proper resources. You do realize there are THOUSANDS of people on this website?

I wouldn’t mind seeing a breakdown of judgment calls vs non judgment calls. I’d be interested to see the ratio of non judgment calls (offsides, false start, 12 men, et. al) vs subjective judgment calls (holding, PI, targeting, etc.) among the SEC.

It be great if someone could break this down by quarter and point margin.

This is exactly correct. It's in what situation, not how many per year.

The "not called" penalties are the hard part. Nobody keeps stats on penalties that aren't called.

Well Bama’s O-line never-ever holds, that’s why they’re never called. Just ask their tard fans.

Do you have any stats to back this up???because if it’s true that’s pretty amazing with all the bs we've seen the Gumptards get away with.

You know what other officiating calls they don't keep stats on?

It’s all about the timing - they’ll throw flags on Bama when it won’t really hurt them to skew the numbers.

But I don’t think they’re necessarily in the tank for Bama, just protecting the team with the best shot at the playoff which usually happens to be Bama.

I know I’m biased but I don’t recall LSU getting that treatment when we were #1. We didn’t need it in 2011 but you’d think they would have let the WR a little bit off the line slide on the Hester TD vs Arky in 2007

ETA: 2009 was the most blatant. Bama and Florida were both escorted to wins vs LSU and Arky respectively.
