Everyone inside of the football ops building knows what Steve is capable of. Steve is capable of making the best damn gumbo you have ever had in your life. It is all about the technique that he uses to make the roux. They don't call him the Slinger for nothing!

Did you purposely misquote all of these stats or did you massage the truth to embellish your already weak argument?

Every single stat line you posted is incorrect.

Wrong

taking the defensive TD away from that game and the miami game and looking at all points scored in regulation E has averaged 27.1 PPG not counting all the crazy points in OT from short fields. canada had 27.2 that IS not blowing him out the water. still need all these stats updated also. 2018 #s v 2017 #s 5.08 v 6.19 - yards/play 333.7 v 411.1 - yards/game 3.91 v 4.79 - rushing yards/att 153.7 v 207.6 - rushing yards/game 6.8 v 8.8 - passing yards/att 180.0 v 203.5 - passing yards/game 115.5 v 149.8 - passer rating 31.9% v 41.4% - 3rd down conversions

It needs to be said that 1) we played a much tougher schedule than last year (our OOC last year was BYU, Chattanooga, Syracuse and Troy - swap Tennessee for Georgia as our other cross-divisional game)
and 2) our entire offense was inexperienced coming into the year. At most schools that is a death sentence.

This offense was never expected to be gangbusters.

I think we will see a big improvement in stats next year, whether its Steve or anybody else. We will be more talented in the backfield and have vastly more experience across the board.

Regardless of what you think about Steve, his offense is infinitely more multiple and balanced that what we had under Miles (run against a fricking brick wall) and I personally don't miss the constant pre-snap motion or an offense based on the jet sweep with Canada. Offenses based off of one play should be reserved for Wisconsin's or Indianas or Navy's - less talented teams. Not LSU.

Steve has done an admirable job this year. We had enough offense to win 10 games (we had enough to beat A&M) with zero returning offensive production and a patchwork Oline.

Of course we need to improve. We need the pieces in place. The offensive line was a HUGE reason for our struggles this year.

Sure, ill justify it with facts.

Next years offense has the most potential of any LSU offense since 2013, possibly 2007... we have our QB, all WRs back, entire OL, and 5 star RBs coming in.

If we hire a new OC it would be our 3rd in 3 years.

If we hire a new OC then our offense with the most potential since 2013, maybe even 2007... all because we return just about everyone, would have to learn an entire new system.

I do not think E should be back, but those are facts, and maybe should be considered for what should be a preseason top 5 team

I understand the narrative that you are pushing, but I don't think you can completely disregard wins and losses when deciding whether a coordinator was effective.

I always enjoy how you try to discount Ensminger’s stats yet “forget” to discount the fact that Chark had two punt returns for TDs last year.

Canada actually had 26.2

So Ensminger’s offense outscored Canada’s (even discounting for OT and defensive scores) playing against a much more difficult schedule with lesser talented, and inarguably lesser experiences players.
