Evidently, Alabama will always get in the CFP if they only lose one game and not even win their division. 11-1 regular season, second place finish in division will always get them in just 'cause they're "Alabama." That's actually a pretty sweet deal for them. They get to sit on their asses and rest up while the division winners bang away at each other, all while knowing the CFP committee will always take them if they only have one loss.

Yeah us beating them isn’t keeping them out of anything we would still have to count on others to beat them. How messed up is that??

Auburn beat 'em and that still didn't help.

It is abundantly clear that blue bloods like Bama will need to have more than 2 losses along with not winning their conference.

I could still see a three loss Bama making it if they won the SECCG, however.

They have the brand. Learn to deal with it or quit watching CFB.

pretty sure if Bama's only loss was by 31 points to unranked Iowa, they wouldn't have gotten in.

Who you lose to, and by how much, makes a big difference.

If that were their only loss, I guarantee you they would have gotten in. The committee would have found every rationale to select them for the CFP, no doubt about it.

Quality wins, including defeating an undefeated team for your conference championship, should also make a big difference. Had Wisconsin and Auburn not played a conference championship and sat on their asses like Alabama did, they may both be in the playoff. They were penalized for playing the conference championship games while Alabama was rewarded for finishing second in their division and sitting home during the SECCG.

If the BCS was still around Bama wouldn't be in it this year.

You realize as the playoff gets bigger the odds of a highly consistent Bama team making it every year go up right?

People also seem to willfully ignore that in both 2011 and 2017 Alabama was on the outside looking in and needed key games to go there way to get in.

If Oklahoma state wins or Wisconsin wins, Alabama is out.

Sometimes you get lucky and backdoor your way in (2007 ring a bell?)

Tried that in 2011. Didn’t work very well.

Sadly if Bama had made it to the SEC championship game this year. There is a fairly decent chance UGA would have beat them.
