No you are. You guys are sold on JJ. Hell he could sell Alex Box and yall would trust him. Last year, John was a high draft pick. “j” was praying Johnson would come to campus. He did but didn’t play. The kid has potential but “J” didn’t think so.
He went in the 20th round after falling in the draft. Maybe just maybe there was something to that, but even if high school guys are drafted early it's on projection. They can still be very raw. I don't understand what your deal is.

Why wouldn't we be?

After how little he pitched can’t say that’s surprising

While people are talking about his potential, he truly had a very long way to go. He was overweight and lost velocity quickly on top of having very little command of any pitch. While you want these guys to work out, it was obvious he wasn’t the premium arm he was touted to be. Not as large of a loss as we think once it all shakes out.
I think he’s a few years away from being a significant contributor, too late for college teams.

Are you referencing national championship winning coach
Jay Johnson when you say “J?”

He’ll be a first round pick in 2 years, just sucks that for some reason we won’t be the team that gets it out of him. I’m sure we probably paid him a shite ton in nil for this past season also, massive waste of money

Based on the evidence thus far, Kade Anderson has a far better outlook at being a first rounder

Kid doesn’t want to compete. F ‘em

Hopefully this means shores and noot are good and he didn’t think he had a good shot at starting

Potential, potential, but we did not see it on the field this year...it happens...

Hopefully a sign Jones is staying. I thought he always wanted to play 1st as well?
Wishful thinking. Nothing to do with Jones.

I wonder if this means Jay has committed to giving herring the opportunity to start?

I would love to see herring start or even stay

I thought Jay actually said that during one of the SEC Tournament or postseason interviews. I remember he said something like if Herring comes back he's a starter.

We need strike throwers. The great ones are good right away. Good luck to him.

Well that’s not true

He did. Cam Johnson has zero impact on Griffin Herring.

The great ones can at least throw strikes right away.
My god, it's the best pitch in baseball. A strike.
