eah, you're right. I'm sure he doesn't work with them whenever the NCAA allows him to.

Well whatever "work" he's done with them to this point
hasn't really taken now has it?

Yes both QBs looked better in the spring game when they were playing with the talented team against the weaker team. Neither looked good on the less talented team against the stronger. Clearly this is no surprise and how the coaches set it up. Spring game gave me no info other than Gage, Battle, and the walk ons need some work as DBs.

Phillip Rivers , drew brees, joe flacco...Coach Cam's students and some say he's a bad qb coach. Seems like he's done something right.

certainly it has....that is all the validation he needs.

Posting a clip from a HS camp giving very elementary instruction should not be so damn impressive.

Lighten up Francis.

I thought, and still think, Cameron was a good hire. But I'm still perplexed by the QB play last year, and the play-calling. It's hard to fathom how bad LSU's QB play was last year.

Yes, Cameron was an NFL O-coordinator, has developed great QBs, etc. Let's see it on the field w/ Harris and Jennings. Last year, we had two OBs with minimal experience, why not call some short passes to backs, tight ends, let them get in a rhythm and get comfortable in the pocket?

I am all for "future LSU QBs," but sometimes it seems like we Tiger fans put all our eggs in some future rosy basket, i.e., "the secret playbook," "Russell Shepherd is going to throw a pass out of the shotgun," etc.

Did you not watch any of the games last season at all? (Ex. The throw to Fournette down the middle & Stokes TD against Ole Miss) This is exactly what he tried to do yet the players couldn't even execute those simple plays at times. (Ex. Quinn & Jones drops against Alabama) The lack of offensive production doesn't fall all at the quarterback's feet either. Our skill position players struggled getting the job done as well. That's what happens when you have no choice but expose so many talented but inexperienced players to trial by fire.

Yeah, I remember that one pass to Fournette. I stood up with lengthy applause. Kinda telling when you can remember specific passes to a back. Tight end? Look, the play calling was poor. In my opinion. I expect and anticipate much better QB play and play-calling this yr. Hope springs eternal.

I think the biggest thing we got from that is Brandon Harris looks so much stronger... The video said he went from 188 to 212 which is insane

Let's just hope he doesn't get fired. He makes a lot of money to coach them. It's not like he's volunteering

Cam isn't going anywhere unless Miles gets the boot, in which case the entire ship is sinking.

It is without a doubt after watching that video CLM puts the brakes on the QB position. Cameron seems very passionate about QB's. Seems if Cameron had his wish he would sling it all over the field.

This is the point you & others like you fail to understand. As a coach, if your players are struggling with the plays you are already calling, you are not going to open the playbook up even more & call plays with more complex presnap checks & route patterns.

Many fans overlook the fact that the offense tried to throw more early in the season (Wisconsin, Mississippi St.) but it was struggle doing so. Jennings struggled with his touch, accuracy & his reads. The receivers struggled making the proper presnap route adjustments pertaining to coverage. They also struggled consistently in route running & getting off press coverage.

It started with Harris' start at Auburn (numerous runs to start that game before a pass was attempted) & by the time the Ole Miss game rolled around the staff realized attempting to continue on the same offensive path would have lead to a worse season record wise than the team actually had. They had to dumb down the play calling because the players couldn't even execute what was being called early on. This is why we got the run heavy games against Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas & Texas A&M.

For those we can't seem to grasp this concept, just imagine you taking in a youngster under your wing at your job. Because of he or she's age, you know they haven't retained the level of knowledge to let them handle matters on their own. You slowly pass them knowledge & information as they digest what you have already given them. You aren't going to overload them with everything at once because that would stunt their ability to grow & mature. This is what happened offensively to the team last year. We live in "now" society where at times mental growth & experience appears to be frowned upon.

With that said, the coaches did get too complacent with their run game play calling & imagination. It shouldn't have taken a shutout loss at Arkansas to begin sprinkling in different run plays (jet sweep looks) out of different formations.

Coaching a college QB and a pro QB is an entirely different ballgame, which for some reason the posters here can't get through their thick skulls.

Why in the hell is the video sideways? Starts out like typical people that don't know how to hold their freaking phone the right way when shooting a video then it flips sideways. Is it just me?

Surely there is a tech guru on here that can flip this video?
