Good

But, if he diesnt hit .500 against tech, can we agree there is a serious offensive problem.

Given that it's now game #4 against what should be an overmatched opponent, I can agree with you.

But I think he'll have a great game on Saturday.

He is going to throw for 65-70% against tech. If he doesn’t then I’ll fish you out of Jordan Rogers arse and jump in there myself.

re; the auburn game, many of the incompletions were deep balls where the WR was pretty much blanketed. Needs to make better choices there and the throws will get easier.

WR also need to get more separation.

I'm not too worried about the stats as long as 3rd down completions and RZ stuff improves. I'll take a few misses over interceptions.

If LSU continues to run the offense shown in first half of Miami and whole game of Auburn, his stats will start to climb, I'm not worried about stats though. He's made the plays when needed. New Offense and New QB will start to find their groove.

If offense can better the 3rd down % and cut down penalties they can really start doing damage.

They could beef up the stats with a bunch of short stuff but it looks like the intermediate game is what they've been working on

Don't give a fuk about stats only care about w's

ok, but here's hypothetical:

We start 3-0, but in each win, we get outgained 500-0. We literally don't gain a yard, and the other team rolls up a lot of yards, but consistently fumbles in the red zone and we take one to the house to win each game 7-0.

Would you care about stats then?

Stats can tell a different story about HOW we're playing, and our chances against better teams the rest of the season.

So you should care, because stats can provide context.

Only way to get over 50%. He just doesnt throw a good deep ball. The slants, curls, hitches...are money, which is precisely what LSU fans have been clamoring for.

I'm thinking this is what the guy was talking about. I think it's one of those plays OSU runs a lot, not sure though. It is sometimes labeled a Jet Sweep Pass.

It’s a play offensive minded teams run to pad their QB stats. It serves no purpose to flip the ball to the receiver instead of handing it off. All it does is increase your chance of a fumble.

I posted this yesterday.

Mett’s completion percentage in 2012 was 58.8%.

Mett had three SEC games in a row of 11-25, 12-25, and 11-29 against Florida, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. Mett didn't turn it on until the Alabama game. Burrow is going to improve.

Interesting thought I had never considered. However, I don't remember one fumble ever occurring on a jet sweep at OSU. OSU does have one extremely fast and quick receiver, Paris Campbell, who is very effective on this play. Too bad he can't track long passes, or he would be a real weapon.

Very True...I'm surprised he's played as well as he has..he's doing this without benefit of Spring ball..Give him time and sky is the limit..

For those questioning Burrow's accuracy, just look at the first 1;17 seconds of his 2016 spring game highlights. LINK

Holy crap. 3 gorgeous downfield passes perfectly placed. The commentator states that his best attribute is accuracy.

If he can deliver 2 perfect passes in the fourth quarter in a big game with Auburn under humongous pressure, and he can complete roughly 70% of his passes during spring games (where he is going against OSU's very good DBs -- most of which were perfectly placed in stride), he almost certainly will improve his accuracy as he gets to know the receivers and the playbook better.
