Been listening to a lot of sports radio and many of the talkings heads are saying that Tua is better/has a higher ceiling than Burrow. Please explain this team me. Burrow has better vision, better accuracy, better under pressure, better at evading the rush. In what way is Tua better than Burrow other than he’s a little younger and little more athletic. People want to say that Tua did it for 3 years. Well my argument is Joe ran a dog shite offense his 1st year here. If Joe had been running the Brady offense from the time he was here, he’d have 2 elite seasons. Tua has been bailed out by a great scheme and elite players all around him. Give me Burrow every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Relax. Tua was very athletic and was pretty elite at evading the rush. He also appeared to be very accurate as a passer. But all of that went out the window with his latest injury. But if a team wants to pick Tua and let Burrow drop to a better team, all the better for Burrow.

Even in Tua's years as a starter, my question is can he go to his 2nd/3rd read on a play. Joe consistently THREW his receivers open, whereas Tua consistently had wide arse opened receivers. Joe is Pro ready RIGHT NOW, Tua still needs development, IMO.

That wasn't the problem according to Joe. The problem was he arrived in Baton Rouge too late. So since he hadn't started in three years, he was very rusty and also because he arrived so damn late, he never got to gel with his receivers or his football team.

As Joe says today that having the full offseason to gel with his receivers and his teammates made all the difference in the world.

Moreover, that offense you call shite also was good enough for LSU to defeat four top-ten teams, and also LSU shouldn't have lost to Florida and A&M.

Nonetheless, according to Burrow, the biggest factor in his impressive improvement was having the full offseason to work with his receivers and with his fellow teammates, more than it was the change in offense.

Not to mention, that in the final three games of the 2018 season, Burrow gave us a preview of how the 2019 season was going to go, as all of a sudden Burrow's stats shot up into the top three of all collegiate QBs in the country.

So the argument that he did it for only one season is not valid. Moreover, no one has the kind of season Joe Burrow had if they are flukes. Flukes might have one of two outstanding games, but not an entire season.

And that’s the idea of what “higher ceiling” means

I agree it’s just stupid. The bama bias is soooo freaking old. Literally all of their players get the benefit of the doubt. Like go suck someone else’s dick for crying out loud.

Tua is an amazing talent. If I was an NFL fan (and I'm not), and my team drafted Tua I would be elated. That said . . .

Joe is playing on a different level. He is more accurate than Tua. Much better record vs top-10 talent than Tua. His pocket presence is better than anyone I have ever seen at any level including Montana.

Also, not sure why the OP thinks Tua is more athletic. Joe appears to play faster tha Tua.

Tua is great. But Joe is even better.

It's simple, how many seasons did Tua pass for over 5600 yards with 60 touchdowns? The answer is never. He never even got close to being that productive.

Give me Joe Burrow under pressure every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Tua is not even close to being in the same league with Burrow.

In other words, Tua compared to other QBs of the past is very good. However, he is not even close to being in the same league with Joe Burrow. As Joe Burrow is on a whole higher level relative to Tua and also with respect to everybody else.

What I saw almost all the time watching Tua was him sitting back in the
pocket with no pressure, throwing to wide open receivers. Burrow on the other hand
had numerous in plays under heavy pressure where he had to move around in
the pocket.

where was Tua during the Heisman?
where was Tua before the Heisman?

Joe was far and away better than all other Heisman candidates. yet these talking heads want to critique these two still.

look at the Heisman flops of yesteryear. good in college, failed in the NFL.

Joe will show his value in the NFL.

PFF has some great stats on why Burrow is much better than Tua. Its every stat really. Burrow stays about 90 rating on 2nd and 3rd reads. Tua drops below 75 rating. Burrow played more top defense. more accurate deep and short. Other taking head knock burrow cuz his first year in the ancient offense with tow man routes. But when the both play in spread offense, its not close.
