Absolutely.

There's a boat load of reasons to be optimistic.

I'm moving goalposts?

You said Burrow is going to be a top 5 pick overall at one point.

I know Shrubs isn't going to call you out on that though. It'd weaken the point he's trying to make.

Rohan Davey said almost the exact same thing (in the interview that he also said Burrow would break his records if E let Brady/Burrow run with the Spread/RPO)

Find the post. It was a momentary ommission of the letters "QB". Promptly corrected. But heartiest congrats to the nit-pick typo squad for catching it. Most impressive.

[you are now on the watch list for the TD 2019 Chickenshit award!]

If I wanted to place a bet with a chance at winning solid money, I'd bet Sam Ehlinger

But, I think Lawrence is gonna win it

I'm saying this. Burrow will not be one of the first 5 QBs taken in the draft.

It's almost like that's really hard to do off of one year of work, in the SEC.

But if you say that, you're "shitting" on him.

I think Buckeye Jeaux is likely a female relative of Joe Burrows.

The strident hero worship displayed is more consistent with a female mindset.

And by no means am I trying to do that. Burrow is going to be a great leader for LSU this year.

The question is if he will be one of the first 5 QBs taken in the draft. Taking injury out if the equation, you can pretty much rule out he won't be one of the first two QBs taken. Herbert and Tua have those spots locked up. Then you have Fromm who is pretty much a lock for a top 5 QB pick barring a disaster this year. That only leaves two spots left, and the competition for those two spots will be heavy. Throw in a relatively unknown, but physically talented QB (like a Jordan Love or Daniel Jones type guy) and that leaves one spot.

6 of the last 8 winners were QBs on programs that averaged 11 wins in that season.

3/4 came from guys who were 20/1 or greater.

That tightens the field down to a few.
Jake Fromm (Georgia) 20/1
Shea Patterson (Michigan) 20/1
Joe Burrow (LSU) 40/1
Jacob Eason (Washington) 60/1
Ian Book (Notre Dame) 80/1

The likely winner because screw trends: Travis Etienne (Clemson) 40/1

Burrow is very familiar with an offense featuring RPO concepts. In fact, he even ran this type of offense in high school back in Ohio.

Goldy - It comes as news to you that this is the same system Joe ran in High School?
Really, Goldie? ok. wow.

LSU scored a grand total of 13 points between the two losses that year. I wouldn’t consider that amazing.

it was the greatest season of any lsu qb ever
JRuss 2006 season alltime lsu ranking
1st in passing tds
2nd in yards
1st in completion %
1st in completions
1st in passing efficiency
1st qb rating

try again.

tua had a qb rating of 21 in their loss. I wouldnt call that amazing either. i guess he wasnt a great qb at bama last year.

the fact that you would rank a qb by his worst game further proves your football ignorance.
I wonder why you rank O by his worst losses.

2006 was perhaps the biggest waste of talent in LSU history. Hester, K. Williams, Alley Broussard, Charles Scott, Justin Vincent, Trindon Holliday, Dwayne Bowe, Early Doucet, Buster Davis, Richard Dickson, Jojo Lafell, and all you can muster 3 points against Auburn and 10 against Florida? That shouldn’t be benchmark.
