Joe is going to finish top 5 passing yards in a season and probably most TD passes ever in a season. Am I wrong for saying his season this year is the best for a QB ever? I’d say this rivals Barry Sanders 2600 rushing yards and 37 TDs as maybe the greatest college season ever by any position.

He’s also about 450 yards from BJ Symons’ record for most total offense in a season.

It would definitely rival Sanders great season because the competition is so great.

David Klingler threw for 54 toudowns in 1990. LINK in 1990.

However, Klingler's competition was NOTHING compared to the brutal schedule the Tigers' faced this year.

He needs 4 to break Colt Brennan's record of 58. That's not a slam dunk vs Clemson but it's certainly possible.

Every record that Burrow doesn't have was done against weak competition (assuming he breaks the completion % record).

Add to that the fact he did it while breaking the record for completion percentage AND did it playing against SIX Top 10 teams!!

No question.

I think that if we win the Natty, what will make his season so absurd isn't just the overall numbers...……..but the fact that he didn't have a single fricking bad game.

That's just unheard of to go undefeated and win the Natty...……..and not have at least one game where you maybe threw for like 55% completion rate and maybe 1 TD, 2 INTs.

I would have been happy going in to the season if you'd told me he was going to play 14-15 games putting up the numbers of his worst performance this season.

Correct, McCoy's record is season percentage completion.

Right. But he would not have had those two more games without individual and team excellence against the best competition in the sport.

Joe’s season is freaking amazing, but Barry’s season is so far separated from everyone else to ever play his position, it’s not even funny.

2,628 yards and 37 in only 11 games (bowl didn’t count).

he went over 200 with 5 more TDs in that Bowl.
so he’s over 2,800 and 42 TDs in 12 games.

closest anyone has come is (Melvin Gordon) almost 300 yards behind even though he played an extra 2 games.
