Whenever your dumbass is, if you didn’t see Dickinson lay down the bunt with 1st and 2nd and no outs, just know CJJ made the right decision. Now 2nd and 3rd with one out and Milam up. Most balls in play score a run

ETA it worked. Jones scored

Mascona is going to hate it.

I'm not even anti-bunting with 0 outs & 2 on. But getting 1 run across after the 1st two men get on is not some ringing endorsement for bunting

Terrible time to make this thread and try to prove a point. If their second baseman and RF don't play that like a little league team, then Jones can't score on Milams fly ball.

1st and 2nd, no outs in the 5th inning against a bad team and you score 1 run is not "working".

When you have a guy that can run, and also slugged .592 & .661 the last two years is just an all time moronic decision.

I agree with Lester. This twink gets so mad if you disagree with any LSU coach.

Meh, it’s situational for sure, but as a coach I firmly believe in using early season to run scenarios that may not make sense otherwise.

I’ve seen tons of kids who could bunt fine in practice and shite the bed in games. It’s always good to let em see the “game spin”.

It is if the head coach wants his hitters to prepare for more important games by practicing the play in a pre-SEC game that doesn't really matter much if the batter fails.

Exactly, but starting a thread to dunk on someone that is anti-bunt after barely getting across a single run is not proving the point he thinks it is

That's perfectly fine, and perfectly acceptable. What isn't, is starting a thread acting like you just had a huge gotcha moment, when what actually happened disproves your point more than proves it.

I think I agree, but it's somewhat situational. Meaning I wonder if they figure the cold is making it harder to score runs tonight and they rather manufacture something even if it's against a team like Omaha.

I'm not sure some of these dudes' reading comprehension is strong enough to understand this point

not a time to be situational in the 5th inning regardless. Dickinson is slugging like 1.132 through 4 games. Let him hit the ball out the infield somewhere

Cool. Now what would have happened if they didn’t bunt?

Dumbasses on here will regret running their mouths when they realize how valuable effective bunting opens up a part of offensive philosophy that Jay hasn’t had since he has been here.

The world will never know. But without the bunt Jones doesn’t score and they don’t have a runner on third after that play.
