Anyone know if he plans to return? I know its been talked about in other threads but haven't seen an update in a few days.

Also, is he playing summer ball anywhere?

The Jordan’s were good for our program, especially the year Bryce got hurt. But to be honest, we don’t need him. We have veteran leadership returning to campus, no room for him in the outfield, he was a terrible catcher, maybe 1st base, but that’s a long shot as well? I just don’t see him earning quality playing time

Only LSU fans could wish an All-SEC player would be gone, because "we don't need him."

I don't want him gone but he definitely isn't guaranteed to be a regular player for us next year. The guy has been all LSU from day one. I hope he sticks around if that's what he wants to do.

IF Bryce Jordan wants to come back he will be back.

A portion of the fan base wants him to be a roster casualty but I believe Bryce has earned the scholarship. With that said I wouldn’t be hugely surprised if he decided to transfer. It’s going to be very hard to find the field for damn near everyone outside of our OF and Josh Smith.

He won't transfer or be a roster casualty.
Paul loves the Jordan's and I am sure there is a spot for him on the team next year IF he wants it.

I agree with you I just wouldn’t blame the young man if say he went to McNese close to home and garunteed himself a full starting year so he could have a shot at the pros.

I fully expect him back and to start the season at DH. I just wouldn’t be shocked if he decided to leave.

I sure hope he comes back, he has had some big hits and been a really good leader.

The only thing you can say about LSU baseball is that the best 9 hitters will end up being the starters. You are fooling yourself in trying to say that it will be tough to find playing time. Every year I can remember, someone has come out of nowhere to get significant playing time because they can hit, Bain this year, Watson and Coomes the year before that, 2 years ago Kramer hit better than anyone thought him capable off, 3 years ago you had Foster and Sciambra both coming off of poor junior years to both be starter and valuable offensive players.

The point is, no position is a lock. We have had players slump from previous years, other players improve dramatically from one year to the other, some unheralded recruits come in and out perform a much higher rated prospect, highly rated players take a while before becoming productive and some of them never became productive player.

Bryce is certainly capable of coming in and batting well over 300 with double digit home runs. If he does, he would be our DH or first baseman.

I think it boils down to what Bryce wants to do. He’s already got his degree, his brother’s career is over, and he more than likely doesn’t have a future in pro ball.

Option 1 - one last year to play the game he loves and has played for basically his entire life. No guarantees of playing time, but definitely a leader of the team.
Option 2 - hang up the cleats and move on to the next chapter in his life.

The only thing he needs to come back as is a DH. He still hasn’t hit double digit HRs in the two years that he has played. Liability anywhere else. Question is does he take the playing time of a big time hitter? Remains to be seen

I think Bryce has always had more upside than his brother Beau at the plate (and Beau had a pretty nice season at the plate this year), but the injuries have just been really killing him.

I think he has a place on the team if he comes back, maybe not as a starter (DH potentially), but could definitely have a role on the team.

I am so tired of hearing this BS from our self righteous super fans. Every team has shitty fans and every player on every team has their detractors. All it takes is one bad play or game and the vocal minority pops up at any school. Is it annoying, of course, but I actually find the incessant bashing of our own fan base more annoying. To act like it only happens at LSU is as ignorant as not wanting Bryce on next year's team.

Bryce definitely has a scholarship and a roster spot if he wants it. He's given too much to this program to have his spot taken right before his final year of eligibility

I know this doesnt mean anything now but his STATS his soph year would have been on top of any lsu player this year, not to mention he was a sec all 1st team selection...he never got a chance to remain in the line up the whole season because of injuries...

me personally hopes he returns and can have a "full" season as a hitter in our line up...we don't have enough experienced sec players to fill the line up yet...he can surely bat 8th or 9th easily....
