Freeze because it’s Freeze

what does this even mean?

Freeze does not run the ball. Either he doesn't know how or he chooses not to, but it was the same at Arkansas State as it was at Ole Miss. His 5 year average at Ole Miss for rushing yards per game was 170 ypg. In 2016, that number was 149 ypg. In 2014, arguably their best team, they averaged 155 ypg. His last year at Arkansas State, they averaged 154 ypg on the ground as a team. This is what we call a trend. Sure, his offenses may sneak up on some teams for big wins, but it is not sustainable over the course of the season.

To win this conference, you have to be able to run the ball and control the clock. Freeze does neither. He runs up tempo 100% of the time. This cost them both the FSU and Alabama games in 2016. His defenses are on the field the entire game because he never knows when to speed things up and when to slow them down. His last year as coach of Ole Miss, their average TOP was 25 minutes a game. That's an average, not one bad game. Sure, he's great at putting up points and passing yardage numbers, but to the detriment of his defense and the team. I'm just not sold on Hugh Freeze like many people on here are.

LSU would still run the ball with Freeze. And our D is good enough to withstand high scoring games. I just want to have a competent QB and offensive scheme that uses the talent we have. Possibly going to have two 5 Star WR in this class... and so much talent on offense. Freeze could utilize that. In the SEC you historically need Defense and a run game, but nowadays you also need a competent QB who can manage a game and make a 3rd and 8 pass

Freeze gives you that

so hire the Tide Killer, Hugh Freeze, who did it two years in a row,,,,,

you don't hire a coach to beat one team. Those same Ole Miss teams that beat Alabama got shut the frick down against Memphis and Florida in 2015. They got shut down against Arkansas (shutout), LSU, and TCU in 2014, scoring 10 points combined in those three games. But, sure they had a fluky game against Alabama in 2015 and pulled off a miracle in 2014 as well.

Based on what? Freeze doesn't recruit running backs and, in case you haven't noticed, we are pretty thin at that position currently. Freeze also, at no point in his career, has shown his ability or desire to establish a strong running game.

not if they're sucking wind in the back half of the schedule because they're on the field the entire game every week

Hugh Freeze is not an enigma. There are plenty of good OCs that know how to develop QBs

That's always been the case. We've had that before and still ran a pro style offense that was a power running team. Alabama and UGA, the two teams in the national title game are built that way as well.

There is no way in hell we hire Freeze.

Agreed. Especially after he came out recently in an interview and said that part of his issues stemmed from his inability to shut out external criticism, including social media. He will be going to a lower level school before he makes it back to P5.

So I’m assuming you like the status quo

You must have thought Jordan Jefferson walked in water and Les Miles was the greatest

Like one girl at baylor when she asked for it by telling the guy no several times, trying to fight him off, then resorting to telling him she was gay. All of which she proved she did in court.

You don't even realize how ridiculous you sound, do you?

Look, I like LSU and college football. But there was a severe problem at Baylor, probably that same problem is at a lot of schools, and I wouldn't want anyone that was there at the time, especially the son of the guy who at best didn't care and at worse covered it up, at LSU.

Also, you should get a little knowledge before you make blanket statements. Maybe try and read a book. Missoula and Violated are both about CFB and the rape culture that surrounded it at the Univesity of Montana and Baylor. It's pretty clear that you'd have to be a complete moron to not have a clue that the players were getting away with everything short of murder there.

a great hire would be Tee Martin

I'm surprised you got so many downvotes. Martin has been the USC OC for the last 2 years and they have been one of the top offenses in the country. He was also the WR coach for Ju JU Smith, Nelson Agholor, Marquise Lee and Randall Cobb (Kentucky). He was also USC's passing game coordinator and has helped develop Sam Darnold. He doesn't have as much experience as some OCs, but I'm not against hiring an emerging OC if he looks like he will be a star.

What we do need to do however, is settle on a philosophy and find OCs that fit that system. If O wants a pro-style/west coast offense then damn it find a guy that fits that system.

Dude, I think you are overly generalizing things, and there is plenty of evidence such as raping women who are drunk beyond consciousness that you are missing. I would love Kendalls (actually his Daddy's offense) here, but I am afraid that we will have a Schiano style PR disaster. You appear to be ignorant of how damaging this issue could be for us, and there are a lot of Momma's out there who would not like this move, or want their kid playing for a Briles.

Anybody notice how Bama has coordinators and coaches that get picked up by other schools and yet because of Saban and his establishment they keep winning

LSU freaks out - because we almost lost Aranda, that really is sad. It’s sad because his importance supersedes the competency of Orgeron

Alleva swung and missed badly on the HC hire, I won’t stop the fight because I love LSU and I know what it could be

Canada is to leaky of a vessel to put much hope in, he changes his mind and jobs way to often, and the bad relationship with Orgeron won’t benefit this team - you can’t wipe that under the rug

Make a splash hire with Briles or Freeze, and let LSU open that offense up, geez don’t you people realize the nfl talent we have squandered?? Why any top level WR still comes here is beyond me? We saw it in the bowl game the frustration by Chark and Gage with how poorly Etling played - not his fault - he just isn’t good

One day. One day LSU will have a QB that is good and they will have an offense that will move the ball and put up points. Might be 5, 10 or more years down the road, but you miserable sunshine pumpers love average at best

Hire Freeze or Briles and you make the SEC be put on notice that down on the bayou we changing shite up
