No you actually said O was fortunate to have Busch on the staff. Implying that he didn’t hire him and that he was one of Les’ guys.
What I said was that LSU was fortunate to have Bill Busch on staff who also happened to be connected to the Burrow family. All of which is true. In no way shape or form did LSU hire Bill Busch to get Joe Burrow. Aranda hired him to coach safeties and he happened to know Jimmy years later when Joe entered the portal.

You're greatly misrepresenting what I said.

Well, given the playoff is now expanded to 12 teams, there’s a pretty good possibility that another 2 loss team will win the NC. So hold that thought for 7 more months. Or maybe Kelly’s team will be ranked 17th on the last week of the season, then by some miracle wind up in the playoffs. Kinda like Miles’ ‘07 team did.

Ooooor maybe (this is just a wild hypothesis) just maybe he was stuck competing in the same division as the greatest coach of all time and one of the greatest football programs of all time. Maybe Les, the winningest coach in lsu history, wasn't a complete idiot. Maybe he was just not the greatest ever...
Maybe coach O was a great recruiter, maybe O was a great motivator? Maybe he did know a thing or two about football. Some even say he was the main reason lsu adopted a modern spread offense.. Maybe Coach O had a hard time dealing with a mass exit of talent to the nfl and a global pandemic?
Nah frick all that perspective. Lets just sit behind our keyboards and call everyone who isn't perfect a dumbass idiot moron.
I love this argument that people make that Les was fired for losing to Nick Saban. He wasn't.
Les was fired for scoring 6 points against Florida in 2012 and blowing the bowl game to Clemson. Les was fired for gagging away the ole miss game multiple times. Les was fired for getting hammered by Auburn after getting gutted by Dak in 2014. Les was fired for laying an egg against Arky after the bama loss. Les was fired for skidding to Ole Miss and Arkansas after getting embarrassed by Bama again.
Les didn't get fired because he was losing to Bama. He got fired because he could no longer beat the Arky's and Ole Miss's of the world either. It was clear LSU was regressing under Les and he didn't have the offensive chops to give any hope of projecting well into the future.

Amen!!
2015 is the highest example of this. You’re 7-0 with a Heisman candidate. You lose at Bama by a two TDs after a competitive first half. Then the entire season is lost. You go out and lose to inferior programs Arkansas and Ole Miss. not only losing to them. You get dominated by them.
All you had to do was continue to pad Fournette’s stats. Get him the Heisman and all is forgiven. But no you failed at that too.
Then let’s go back to 2014. You get embarrassed in tiger stadium by Dak and Miss State. Get absolutely smoked by Auburn. Then get some momentum. You beat #3 ole Miss then have the Bama game in the bag only to get an absurd penalty in the red zone and settle for a fg then blow the game in OT.
frick all you people defending Les Miles. He’s a joke. He never deserved the job. He’s suing LSU when all he had to do was win literally one more game. Have some self accountability Les. Don’t blame it on someone else when it was clearly on you.
You’re not now and never were a HOF coach. You burned this bridge. There might have been a day where you were welcome back to be honored but not now. GFY

Ok no one is saying les is the best ever or he shouldn't have been fired when he was. But he did have great years at lsu and he contributed alot to the growth of the program. To say he was just a lucky idiot proves how ignorant you are.

Lots of bad coaches have bad losses. Elite coaches don’t have the clock debacles that Les had. Les had them and had multiple of them. The Tennessee game is the perfect microcosm of the Les era. To call that “win” anything but luck is dishonest.

When ? I am a tiger fan . I do not see it in the next 4 years . Will he have time to win one?

LSU won that natty despite Les.

I really can't believe people regurgitate it like they do.

I mean, i'm not a seer but I like LSU's chances to win one in the next 4 years with Underwood at QB and a rebuilt roster that finally mirrors the elite programs in the country.

Is there an award for longest tenure in CFB or most teams as a HC?
Maybe Kelly will get an award for most hyped. He has to win an SEC Championship first.

Brian Kelly is 283-103-2 (.731) as a head coach. He will be a first ballot HOF selection

So much talk about losses and shortcomings. How about we discuss accomplishments as well... What would you say is Brian Kelly's most impressive post season win?

The first thing anyone does when talking about the best teams to win a national championship during the playoff era is eliminate 2007 LSU, the only two-loss champion, from consideration. Does that mean the 2007 team couldn't have beaten some of the other, more highly regarded champions? Sadly, the answer is no. It means 2007 LSU underperformed so badly that it needed several unlikely breaks to back into the BCS title game. Trying to make sense of that season was like trying to break down the substance of a Les Miles press conference.
