That would still be more than Jamarr's last year before the draft...

Apparently there was a second discussion with Bama and Gordon redid the NIL with Boutte to “expand their relationship”.

So here is Boutte with an NIL deal but he is obviously still talking to Bama.

This is not true, just speculation. People are incorrectly reading between the lines.
The "Boutte Got Gordon again" thing was just good business by Gordon - it's just how his NIL deal was structured. His initial deal was set to expire at the transfer portal deadline & a new deal (probably more $) was signed once he was still at LSU after the deadline passed. Why would Gordon sign him to a long term deal for the '22 season if he still had the opportunity to transfer to a new program?

quote:

Do you honestly think that a Lawyer the stature of Gordon has time to sit down and redo an NIL unless there was tampering again?

Absolutely if he doesn't want to see his 6 figures playing on another team. If you recall, these NIL deals can't be for a player to play for a specific team i.e it can't say "as long as Boutte is at LSU". How do you get around that? Make an initial deal to keep him in BR until the deadline & then a 2nd deal if he doesn't enter the portal.

They were planning on him being there.

He's going to play minimally this year, if at all. He's just out for what he can get, skate by and on to the next level.

I know you have to try to keep talent, but at some point you just gotta let a kid go.

That's now how its being administered, which is why there is so much tampering right now.

Bama, A&M and USC are the worst.

You people are miserable.
Bitch when Eli Ricks leaves & bitch when Boutte stays.

I guess y'all are just grouping him in with Jamarr Chase, Terrace Marshall, & Stingley. I'm still in the group that expects him to have a huge year & score a couple touchdowns against Ricks on 11/5.

Boutte doesn’t have a full dominant season like Chase or even Stingley.

I think he is elite but he needs to put together a season to prove it unless he plans on running a 4.3 flat at the combine.

Having little faith in a dude who waivered repeatedly?

Nah, you're just incredibly naïve.

show me proof of this. What do you mean "repeatedly"? A week ago? like i said above, people are incorrectly reading into the "Boutte got Gordon again" tweet last week and are assuming this sentiment.

I believe he was considering his options in January. I don't believe he has waivered since.

Just a few months ago, rumors circulated among the Tigers sports community that Kayshon had plans to take his athletic talents out of the boot. Fortunately, he put those rumors to rest and solidified his commitment to the Tigers by signing an NIL contract with our firm.

Since signing on with Gordon earlier this year, the powerhouse attorney and Tigers Football superstar have partnered for some exciting projects. From filming a Super Bowl commercial to throwing an autograph signing, Kayshon and Gordon have shown that there are no limits to their unique partnership.

Given the demonstrated success of their partnership, Gordon was quick to extend Kayshon’s contract. We look forward to considering Kayshon’s passions and ideals and our firm’s values to create future opportunities for this strong pair to continue scoring touchdowns with their community involvement.

Yes there were a number of rumors in January, as stated above in the statement on Gordon's website. The only rumors started a week ago were from a few posters on here (Thanks Captain Crown..). Believe what you want, but it's simply how the NIL deal was structured & extended. There were no 2nd talks with Bama or anyone a week ago before the deadline. If you want to assume that & shite on one of our best players, then go ahead.

This is the world we’re living in now and the Pandora’s box that opened thanks to NIL.

Boutte essentially asked his boss for a raise. Something I’m sure most of us have done in our career. He didn’t want to leave, and it’s possible that he took less than what Bama, A&M, and whoever else was offering. He saw players at top programs getting paid, and got offered to leave LSU. He didn’t have to tell LSU anything, he could have just entered the portal and left.

You can say he’s a bad teammate, all about himself, etc, but this is the world we’re living in, and in a way Boutte was honest and upfront about offers he was receiving to leave.

Not at all. Only when the noise from the bama side became too loud and he had to address it.

he's just a mercenary. that's fine, but it is what it is.

weird because that's literally what this article was about. He's given Brian Kelly that impression since his original statement back in March.

quote:

"He's a great player. He's a good kid. But this has been a rough spot for him," Kelly said in March.

Kelly believes that Boutte responded well, pointing out how the junior needs to be a leader among a younger corps of wide receivers. "I think he heard it," Kelly said. "And I think his response was appropriate. "He got back out there and he was with the guys, he was engaged. He was helping them and that's what I was looking for."

Correct. These youngsters have the wrong people in their ears. Handlers are only interested in themselves.

The elite will be nothing but semi pro mercenaries. No loyalty, no team concept. Just go to the highest bidder.

For 18-22 year olds, that's going to be a huge mess.

These kids don't care about college, or LSU.

Here's the thing. Why do you need to tell a highly regarded player going into his Junior year that he needs to be a leader on the team, come to workouts, and help his teammates? So he wasn’t doing any of these things but had time to talk to Bama bagmen? Everybody can believe what they choose to believe but I still say that this is not over. We will see.

This. IMO he definitely was gone around that point in time.

I don't expect much from him this season tbh.

I think he will play and play well. Although he has performed when on the field, it's not a Chase situation where he can sit out the entire year and go #2 overall. He needs a big year to be drafted where he'd like to go.

Jaylen Waddle shattered his ankle early in 2020. Not only did he remain engaged with his team, he did everything he could to play and hobbled on the field in the national title game. Boutte just courted himself to Alabama until he got an NIL deal. He’s never given the impression he’s a team player. Very talented, absolutely

this

too all the ones complaining about people calling boutte out....understand that many of us understand things have changed and its all about money now...doesnt mean we are ok with it. it sucks and has ruined CFB for what it once was.
