Kelly wants to make him the highest paid defensive coordinator in the country.

Kelly didn't leak this, so Freeman, or his agent, did. The only reason to leak it is to scare ND into ponying up more.

If Stoops has OK locked up, Freeman will move.

No fricking way ND gives him the HC job. The dude is only 35 years old and has no head coaching experience.

I think ND got caught with their pants down on Kelly leaving. They have a lot of soul searching to do for their next coach. But I agree, Freeman from a short stint as a DC at ND would be a huge freaking risk to turn around and make him head coach...

He also offered Tommy Reese the OC job.

I'm told #LSU's Brian Kelly has offered the OC position to Tommy Rees and DC position to Marcus Freeman. Both are under consideration to be the head coach at #NotreDame. Big decisions on deck for Jack Swarbrick. Fluid talks occurring today

Am I imagining things, but wasn't Freeman to be the head coach in waiting at Notre Dame?

Uh, they could do that without leaking it publicly.

ND, the same school that once hired a High School coach to be their Head Coach?

I don’t think there is a route to him becoming our DC…I think Fickell gets the ND job and MF goes to Cincy

I mean, he was his DC less than 48 hours ago. His offering him the gig should not be news in the slightest. It would be news if he didn’t offer him.

Only way it happens is if Fickell cant take the ND job because of playoff. ND hires Matt Campbell because they cant wait on Fickell. If it plays out like that maybe Freeman comes with Kelly but even then its a long shot
