Brian Kelly Press Conference - October 16...Link and Tidbits Inside

- LSU (5-2) will face Army (2-4) on Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is at 6:30pm CT and will be televised on SEC Network.
- LSU is favored over Army by 30.5 points. The over/under is 56.5.
- This will be the second meeting between LSU and Army. Army won the first meeting in 1931, 20-0.
- LSU is now 2nd in the nation in converting 3rd downs on offense (46 out of 80...57.5%)... LINK
- Jayden Daniels leads the nation in total yards with 401.3 yards per game... LINK
- Daniels also leads the nation in passing efficiency (197.74)... LINK
- Injury Updates for Army Game:
Emery Jones and Mekhi Wingo are listed as "doubtful"
Chris Hilton is "probable"
- Wingo has been nursing a lower body injury all year. Jones has ankle injury that is manageable and Kelly is confident both will be back soon.
- Kelly commended the selflessness of the running backs...each RB has stepped up when asked to step up...
- Kelly could not give an update on Duce Chestnut

What happened to Wingo? Somehow I missed that at the game. Not liking that fact that BK didn't say much about it but made mention of Emery's being "manageable"

If it wasn't obvious before that Duce comment he made pretty much sounds like he is 100% gone
Sure he underperformed but he's someone I thought we could at least rotate.

Maybe it was poorly worded coach speak, but if BK is “waiting for info/details” then that sounds like Deuce fricked up on the university side and is no longer eligible

My only question to that is if he screwed up in school it must've been during either the spring or summer. shite the drop date isn't even until Nov 3. I don't know how eligibility works for athletes if a screw up on a test screws you or only final grades.

Kudos to John Emery. I haven't always been a fan of his but "Dang" on one play (a quick pop off left tackle I recall) he shot past that LOS like a cannonball. His acceleration was NFL explosive - reminded me of former Miami Dolphins RB Mercury Morris. LSU RBs have delivered.

If Emery would just give minimum 50% effort on school he’d be a mid round draft pick but it doesn’t look good to scouts that you can’t handle your shite 5 years in a row.
