re: Brian Holland: No decision today on Wade

He only turned on Wade recently. I even defended him at one point because at the time he had stayed out of it when the other trolls showed up and started spamming every Wade thread.
Part of why I’ve had hedged optimism on Wade being reinstated is because Ree’s posting habits took a sharp turn in the past two weeks or so from relative ambivalence to venomous vitriol towards Wade, and we know Ree’s job is to advance Orgeron and King/Alleva’s talking points.
Someone in the AD obviously told him the new company line is to try to make Wade out to be a villain. He’s just carrying out orders, which is partially why I’ve been reluctant to get my hopes up on Wade returning.
Shhhhh! You might be on to something.
FWIW, who knows if anyone here is being truthful or if it's just an elaborate hoax to ruffle peoples' feathers. That said, it's not difficult to connect dots.
The one person at LSU, maybe more than anyone, who doesn't want to see Alleva leave is Ed Orgeron. Let's face it, there weren't many, if any, power conference schools beating down O's door to offer him their HC job prior to him getting the LSU job, and it's not unreasonable to think Alleva is the ONLY power conf. AD that would have hired O to be a HC. Thus, in many way Ed and Alleva are tied at the hip.
Alleva doesn't want to fire Orgeron because doing so would mean failure on the part of Alleva for hiring a coach many felt at the outset was not worthy of the job. As long as Alleva is the AD there is going to be an inherent reluctance to get rid of Orgeron. BUT, if/when Alleva goes, so goes O's safety net. A new AD would not feel any sense of loyalty to O or internal pressure to keep him around if things went sour. No one could blame the new AD for Orgeron. They would only blame him if they wanted O gone and the new AD refused to comply. Therefore, it is in Orgeron's best interest to ensure Alleva remains AD.
The Wade situation tips the apple cart. Whether intentional or not, there is no question a power struggle between Alleva/Alexander and Wade along with his influential supports/boosters is currently taking place. I think reports are accurate that the administration did not anticipate the amount of vitriol thrown their way as a result of the decision to suspend Wade. Thus, it's plausible that if Wade stays it may be at the expense of Alleva and/or Alexander. And as noted above, Orgeron desperately wants Alleva to win that power struggle. If that means attempting to indirectly turn public support against Wade, so be it.

Even you should realize how asinine this is. Fandom is not measured by listening to coaches’ shows. If you think it is, that’s weird. Just my opinion.

You've said some really dumb stuff here in this thread and it is entertaining, but if you think that I just became a basketball fan all of a sudden, you're really going into looney town. I watched every game in Jones' last year.
My favorite moment from the shows that I did see was probably just hearing all 3 assistants talk about keeping everything the same as Wade did it. I don't watch all of the shows because they're slow and boring. If anything important is said it's in The Advocate the next day anyways and I read the Sports page every morning.

Lets talk about them. I know I suck at being a basketball fan compared to you. But I have thoroughly enjoyed the Will Wade shows. I only got the audio and I think people with CST got the video and audio on TV.
Lets talk about them.
Please???
To any and all the GREAT fans, lets talk about some of the Will Wade coaches show moments.
Please. I have some I want to share but am curious if the huge LSU basketball fans found them worth remembering like me.

And now back to the regularly scheduled program-- did anyone really expect there would be a reinstatement immediately after the first meeting? If you did.... you are foolish or naive.

It’s amazing how you latch onto something and refuse to let it go. You know this is a fool’s errand, but you’re going balls to the wall anyway.

If you’re really judging fandom based on this then I’m willing to concede you’re a bigger fan than me. doesn’t bother me. I know what team I cheer for and I have 35 years of memories that say I don’t have to prove anything. I would hope that’s how most fans feel.

Will Wade needs to return to his post ASAP! This isn't a good time for our recruits. Tony Benford is heading out of town.. Not that him still being installed as interim HC would help the situation that much.

I would love to meet this dude in real life. There has to be something physically or mentally wrong with him. He becomes absolutely unhinged at times on this board.
I hope he's not married, because I would feel incredibly sorry for his wife and kids.

My bad. I thought you were a huge Will Wade fan and were bitching about the situation he caused by being caught on wiretaps by the FBI.
You don't watch the shows because they are boring and you can read about it the next day. That's cool. Must be nice to live in a place where that is available for you. I have to listen to the free audio on the LSU website.

O doesn't let you out from under his desk long enough to listen to the show? That's rude.

I am really starting to wonder if I am the ONLY ONE who EVER listened to the Coach Will Wade show.
I thought all the crybabies freaking out about the FBI tapes actually followed LSU basketball.
Guess they were just looking for another reason to melt.

You're bad indeed because I never did that. In fact, I agreed with suspension initially. As usual you're trying to deflect from acting like an arse and now you're making a bigger arse out of yourself.
I still love you though.

Seriously, this is some great insight. I was worried that crapturds like Ree coming out of the woodwork to bash CWW meant that the LSU brass were posturing to fire him after acting like they were trying to keep him.
BUT... your theory is much more plausible. Ree is a pawn for Ogre, and by extension Alleva. So, hopefully the rants of Ree in this thread signal the last desperate punches from an AD about to get the axe.
I like it. I LIKE IT.

I did not, beaux. I expected them to discuss what Wade said with the NCAA before making any decisions either way. IMO the NCAA will at least have to give them some preliminary OK before he is reinstated.

I am becoming more and more disillusioned by the HUGE basketball fans who are not basketball fans at all. the idiots who pull for a coach and not the university.
Nobody cared enough to listen to one fricking Will Wade show but are willing to sell LSU out for the guy that didn't even register listening to for one fricking show.
Internet LSU fans are some pitiful mother-frickers.

I've been saying this for a while now. It is painfully obvious when you take a look at the posters who were shitting on Wade. They were the same crew who will blame every single player, coach, etc on Earth to avoid ANY criticism of Orgeron. Alleva leaving takes a bit of the security blanket away from Orgeron (not saying he should, or would get fired with a new AD).
