Now we know why he has was beaten out for the job twice. Props to him for sticking around and being loyal; you don’t see that often. However, I think O wanted to be loyal to him as well and reward him. You hate to cast judgment after one game, but this isn’t just COVID messing things up. You either have it at this point or you don’t. Trask at UF was similar in that he hasn’t started in years, but immediately you saw a mature QB who could make reads and had good footwork. Brennan doesn’t have either. If he struggles out the gate next game, I think we will see a QB swap. I also think Chase knew what he had this year and that played a huge part in choosing to opt out.

His first game as a starter. Was running for his life all day. Little or no running game plan. Seven sacks.

Oh, and the defense gave up 600 yards of offense to the opposition today.

Yeah, he's hopeless.

how much time? 2 losses? 3? If Brennan isn’t the answer, let’s go with one of our young stud QBs on the bench.

He has none of the intangibles. Pocket presence, being able to read a defense, seeing/feeling pressure. Everything Burrow had, he doesn’t. On top of that, he’s not very athletic and doesn’t have a lot of confidence. His body language was awful today.
. I agree 100%. The difference in his body language and the MSU qb was night and day. Brennan is not the answer. Sad to say. We knew he could not replace Burrow- no one can- but I didn’t expect him to be awful. He simply not a good QB. I think Danny Etling looked better.

Not a leader.

No moxie.

No toughness.

Guys will not really behind him.

Soft.

right on!
Brennan appears to be more suited as a backup who comes in when your studs have closed the game out. He's not an SEC starter. We have too much talent and should see what we have in young QB's for the future.
I hope we aren't getting ready to feel the pain of losing Brady as an offensive innovator and QB whisperer

Yet some of you dumbasses got pissed every time we mentioned that a transfer QB was badly needed this year!

Wonder how much that first hard tackle got into his head. He took a good lick when trying to run for that first.

The thing is about game 2 is he is going to beat Vanderbilt cause they are no good and the he is going to be a good QB. One game doesn’t define him but it’s pretty close.

I dont think anyone is putting any stock into Vandy or Mizzou for that matter. Brennan could have put a lot of worries to rest today. Instead he now has to prove himself 3 times in a row to win most people over.

Did you not see Brandon Harris or Jordan Jefferson?

"Running for his life " was mostly his doing. He left the pocket when there was no pressure and he held onto the ball too long most times.

I knew there'd be problems when Myles was once asked about film study and admitted he's not a visual learner (ie: film, playbooks, etc..) and that he has to demonstrate it tangibly in practice via muscle memory. With multiple years of only limited practice reps and then this abbreviated offseason of practices/camp, I feared the worst and unfortunately it materialized.

Now, compare him to a visual learner like Burrow, who had a command of the Bengals playbook within only a month after being drafted via mental reps in Zoom meetings. Joe was already mentally prepared for practice, and used practice for timing/muscle memory, not for grasping concepts & plays .

Yes this was driving me crazy. Why are we running RPO's when he never keeps it! It's like the D knows hes giving it up every time. I cant believe Linnehan would call that on a 3rd and goal from the 1 yard line smh

My two main concerns besides the obvious scared and no confidence. He couldn’t see the field. And he can’t throw wrs open. Or at least he didn’t show it today. You could tell when he was suppose to throw the ball and he didn’t. Boys nuts better drop quick... all I gotta say

Burrow showed up on campus in June. He wasn’t named the starter until a couple of weeks into camp. So it’s not like he had great comfort with his receivers when the season started.

Brennan has been on campus for four years and everyone knew he was the next starter going back to last season. He should be able to complete passes blindfolded to some of the receivers that he’s throw with for a couple of years.

The difference between those two is that Burrow would never punk out and say, “I have it my all. I did my best. That’s the best I got. We all have it our best.” That says it all. When Burrow sucked he admitted it and always said he needed to do better. This guy says, “I gave it my all.” What is this Pop Warner?
