What am I missing?

O gets the job on the basis of:

1. Getting the best offensive coordinator available and allowing him to run the offense

2. Retaining & letting Aranda run the defense

3. Play the roll of a CEO and manage the team

What we got was Les Miles with a Cajun accent and a horrific head coaching record.

Now we’re starring down the gun barrel of an extremely difficult year with a sophomore qb with little experience.... due 110% to a coonass who from day one fricked with the offense...

Result: no meaningful in game experience for Brennan and a loss to Troy. To save his arse he trots the average but tried and true senior out under center.

For all you O apologists out there, I’m not saying Brennan should have started, but the cake walk teams at the beginning of the season was the time to let him rip.

Now we have O firing a guy he did no true interviewing on walking with $3M... and wait for it.... more fricking excuses come next year “because the team is young and the system is new”...

Writing is on the wall. Unless Brennan becomes a hiesman candidate over night get ready for the excuses...

You wanted to give a freshman qb a lot of snaps to prepare him for 2018 instead of preparing the starter for the impeding season. How fricking stupid can you be.

I am more pissed about the prospect of our QB's having to learn a whole new offense next year, instead of reinforcing and building on the one that's in place now. All because a coach stood up for himself and wanted to do the job he was hired to do.

I'm in agreement with this. We've finally gotten the young QBs we've wanted, let them learn and develop in a system now.

The coaching staff squandered many chances to give Brennan playing time in games where the Tigers had a safe lead.

Since he is the OC, if Canada wanted to get Brennan more playing time, the freshman should have gotten it.

That's what I didn't get either. Why not play Myles more and prepare him. It's not like Etling was spectacular

1. We were supposed to beat the cupcakes handedly so Brennan could play a quarter or two.... thus preparing him for next year.

2. A senior qb (who everyone assumed had maxed out his potential) would and did start every game. The expectation when playing G5 and half arse power 5 teams is that you’re able to get your fricking backups reps...

3. Don’t let the USL logo next to my name fool you, I could bet big bucks that my 4 tickets in section 105 in tiger stadium are better than yours for financial reasons. I wish I could be a t-shirt fan from thibodeaux that only gets tickets to the rent-a-win games from your boss at the drill pipe/casing yard gave you that no customers wanted...

Brennan got enough reps for a true freshman. O understood the expectations going into the job and played Etling accordingly while keeping the future in mind.

Yeah, the Canada vs O crap is a black eye on O, but it’s not impossible for Brennan and company to pick up on a new system.

As far as the excuses for next year go, I’m sure Alleva has made it amply clear to O that his job is tied to the success of the team next year... no excuses

and he threw an interception every time he was out there. playing Brennen very well may have cost us that game. he killed a scoring drive with a stupid interception and we needed every drive we had.

this team was really never in a position to give many meaningful snaps to the #2 QB. at least O tried to work him in early in the season; something Miles never did.what a lot of fans do not realize is that winning the game is the number one goal. when we played our cupcakes we had lots of injuries and suspensions. it forced us to play mostly with Etling and Etling needed reps in the new system as well.

you are rewriting history and criticize our HC like you know what you are talking about. BEING the HC and responsible for the record and sitting on the sideline being critical after the fact is completely different.

Yeah it is comical these snowflakes don't realize that Brennan got tremendous experience this past year. He knows what to expect now. If we listened to these snowflakes we would have a new head coach every game, and a different qb every quarter

Re: Coach O

Answer: He’s doing the right thing and he has a plan to win.

Re: Brennan

Answer: Miles Brennan will be one of LSU’s most dominant, prolific QBs in LSU history.

I have never seen a coach, at any level, give next year’s starter more reps than O gave Brennan, unless he had something to contribute THIs year (eg Tebow). I always hear fans saying this, but it never happens. Maybe the unanimous actions of thousands of coaches is better than the mixed opinion of a handful of rantards.

I agree. It was really perplexing to me that Brennan did not get playing time towards the end of the season when LSU had built comfortable leads. I have a feeling that this was one of the bones of contention between Orgeron and Canada. I think Canada DID want to play Brennan more.
