Always believed Brennan didn’t quite feel like a zone read / rpo QB like burrow. Burrow could tuck it and run.
Brennan appears to be a spread throwing Qb. Sit back in shotgun offense like patriots and sling it. Linehan could be better coaching a Brennan strengths than a Brady like clone. With young analyst on board and rpo plays from last year, rpo plays can be sprinkled in. Just a thought but for clarity I don’t like the hire either. Trying to find a positive spin.

I feel sorry for the kid. If there’s one thing you can be sure of if something goes wrong next season the player, not the multi millionaire adult, will take the blame here.

We didn’t run that many RPOs or Read Options.

Myles actually ran a lot of read options (for some reason)

I don’t think you understand what RPOs are and we really didn’t run as many RPOs last year as our fan base believes

Well it seemed that the o line was running RPOS cause they where blocking down field on plenty of pass plays thru the year

Wtf games did u watch? We ran a ton of RPO. It’s Read Pass
Option. The QB is reading that safety of comes down into the box we throw it right behind them we did it a ton.

We ran a lot of PA plays and a lot of plays where CEH just ran a route.

We ran RPOs for sure, but people act like it was the basis of our offense and it just wasn’t anywhere near as prevalent as some other offenses. There are offenses out there that run something like 85% RPOs

Brennan ran quite a bit in high school too. He is not a statue like Tom Brady. The positive in the hire is that we get an experienced NFL coach as a passing game coordinator. This wasn't a repeat Joe Brady hire (young kid sling shot into OC), Orgeron hired experience. Clearly the young guy from the Rams was not going to be a fit who they interviewed.

Brennan isn't skinny anymore and there is no reason to believe that he couldn't tuck the ball and get a few first downs per game when needed.

Brennan reminds me of Matthew Stafford. Some of Stafford's best years were under Linehan.

After game 5 or 6 we were just letting Burrow pick people apart. They would mix in some RPO's when people where playing around with numbers in the box. It just got to the point where our staff was thinking no one can stop us. Let's just sling it everywhere we want.

In 3 years this is what I can remember

Cameron
Canada
Sullivan
Engsminger
Brady
Munoz
Linehan
Plus multiple analyst

Brennan will either be full of football knowledge or be very confused.

Just documenting this for when you undoubtedly change it later out of embarrassment. It's Run-Pass, and the concept is QB can choose run or pass without an audible each play. Jesus.
