I agree, We could definitely do worse than Johnson. He's at worse a proven commodity even if it comes with a limited ceiling. We, at the very least, need his experience in the QB room badly next season...and who knows, maybe Kelly can put him in better situations to progress next season

I thought he’d be great enough to go to a bigger school and start

He is from Southern Mississippi. They need a QB. Heck USM played their last 3 games without a Scholarship QB. I am sure Kelly is going to want a qb he can work with for a

If will hall isn't the coach there is no way he goes to usm.

Will hall is a good coach and probably sold him.

Brennan to USM

Right after his transfer announcement, I remember folks on here hyping him up as if several blue blood programs would be banging on his door to get him to sign.

He needs to go somewhere where he's promised the job
He only has one year left
He can't afford to get into another competition
He needs to put something on tape to have any shot at the NFL

For those asking, Eaglepost (a Facebook group for USM, it’s pretty toxic but I keep on it for entertainment and some information) he was reported on campus again and in the admissions office finalizing his schedule. USM has potential next year, can easily be a 6 win team with a good QB. They got bit by the injury bug hard, and Hall had to change the culture and cut a lot of players from the Hopson era. Brennan also would give hall time to develop the two young guys, Ty Keys and we have the top QB in Mississippi signing next week. Reportedly Hall also has 30-35 scholarships to use due to a lot of players leaving/transferring and plans on using most of them on linemen. If Hall gets Brennan an O-Line, he’s going to be dangerous.

He's only got 1 year left to play and he doesn't want to wonder if he's going to be the starter, so I don't blame him. That dude could have left LSU 4 years ago but stuck it out. I wish him the very best.

I beleive he was contacted by texas and some other big schools.

He probably just wants to be guaranteed the job.

For some reason i don't think brennan has these big nfl aspirations.

I saw enough spark out of him to tell me there is room for growth there with some decent coaching and organization. I certainly never saw anything out of Brennan that would put him heads and shoulders above him.

Same. In the offseason I think he needs to put on some muscle, work out with the running backs and be a tough 225 pound runner willing to take some punishment.

Also make sure whoever backs him up is more than ready.

Wrap him in bubble wrap as soon as he signs the papers. That being said wish him the best of luck.

No fishing trips and keep him away from flip flops on piers.

Injuries….granted….but this guy was never to be a Tiger player. The injuries and fragility are now Hattiesburg’s Case!!

Like others, and not implying MB was a Prima Donna, if they only opt out and take all they can, why sign them????

LSU’s Prima Donna would not have snookered The Mendacious Crimson Dwarf, they would have been processed!!! Orgeron abused LSU FB, that way and via other corrosive benign neglect, after he got a big $-Commitment from LSU, and he bailed, just like the entitled!!!!
WITAFITS?

Get bent, chode.

Yea..eventually after a LONG time waiting and finally realizing that his shot wasn't coming at LSU. The post I was responding too calling him part of the spoiled generation is bullshite. Most guys would have hot the portal the day Burrow got to campus....he stuck it out...got injured, stuck it out some more before finally getting injured again and realizing his time passed.

Dude this wasn’t really all his fault, bebe never really wanted to play him and or recruit him, was freak injury this year.

Despite that, he stayed at LSU for 4 years and was part of the goat LSU and college football team. If that’s not enough for you, seriously…..wtf
