Myles has been in the system for 3 years now

I believe its premature to call it a system at this point. He has had to deal with multiple coordinators and coaches (HC, OC, and QB) since 2017. If 2020's offensive scheme and execution looks similar to 2019...then we can call it LSU's System. Certainly do not expect the same output as last year, but if style of offense and aggressiveness of the play calling and precision of the in game and half time adjustments carry over post-Brady, I will be ecstatic and Brennan will have a good year.

Put it out there. Most coaches would say something similar. Not many JB's put there.
Schedule is brutal but accommodating at the beginning. Miles will get some seasoning prior to Fla. Should be interesting to see how he progresses.
Don't sleep on State....the perfect opener.

This youngster has all the skill, just needs game time. All the things mentioned improve with game time. He will not be JB ....... this year.

Pretty much every first time starter at the quarterback position needs to improve all those things. Orgeron didn't say he was doing thise things poorly, just that improving those things were the next steps in his development to be a championship quarterback. The bar at the position was raised by Burrow, and Orgeron is going to push Brennan to improve day-to-day, as he should.

Y'all act like we've never seen this dude play before.

We have and he's been "pretty good" to good I would say.

If he's improved from last year, we'll have a chance to win almost every game.

And frankly, I'm more worried about the defense. Before Shelvin and Vincent left, I wasn't as concerned.

This could easily be CEO saying the right things to motivate a new starter. I won’t freak out until I see Brennan struggling against the first three teams we play. If he can lead LSU to comfortable wins in those games, I have to believe his confidence will grow as he gets more comfortable in that role. There will surely be growing pains and a pick or two that shouldn’t happen, but I believe this guy has the skill set to keep LSU in the hunt for a NC.

Doubters. Remember last pre season.
Several in the know posters were stating our offense would score 50 pts a game. Then it happened. The same guys who were ridiculing those posters are still not convinced.
Orgeron said today that we are running the same system with a few wrinkles added from Linehan.

Coach O said with a confident smile, our running backs are very talented. Each RB, contrary to the naysayers, are all three listed as N0 1.
Boutte is so talented and looked so good in practice, that he has moved up to number 1 at this time.
In order for WRs to look good, the QB must be looking good as well.

If O didn't have supreme confidence in Brennan, he would have signed a transfer.
I trust the coach.

Brennan’s always had happy feet, he’s always put too much heat on his passes, and he’s been iffy on his reads. This is nothing new. He’s never had great poise. You either have it or you don’t. If poise could be taught, there would be a lot more great QBs out there. Unfortunately it cannot be taught and I don’t think Myles has it. He will be ok but will never be great bc of it.

You know what? you’re right. Brennan sucks. He’s a looser and he is just waisting our time. He will never be a productive quarterback because if he was worth a damn he would have played before now. Hell he’s been here for 3 years. The fact that he sat behind Etling as a true freshman and behind Burrow during the greatest run of anybody who ever played quarterback in the history of college football certainly qualifies him as someone who just does not have what it takes to play QB for LSU. I say we immediately turn the reins over to either Finley or Johnson who are obviously far more capable and qualified to lead this team,

This is not at all what I said. I said he would be ok but not great based on what I have seen. He has not shown great poise in the pocket (see the pick six vs Vandy last year). He is good with a clean pocket and open WRs but against Bama and Florida, he will need to do more. I’m not sure he can. I hope I am wrong.

If he's struggling with those things, we might be in for a long season

Brennan has never started before. Take a look at 2018 Burrow and thats probably what you see from Brennan early on.

I’m just reading into what Orgeron said. Perhaps more so than I should but it doesn’t exactly sounds like ecstatic validation. You’re right in that the offense is just a year old but there’s familiarity with the program, with E, with O, with some of the other asst coaches. He’s been here long enough to not let this be a project year.

Ed Orgeron on Myles Brennan's next steps: "His command of the offense. His pocket presence. Seeing the field a little better. Making quicker decisions. Knowing where to go with the ball presnap. All things that take experience. But overall, we're very pleased with Myles."
Guess he knew.
