re: Brandon Harris is not the answer at QB. Does Les not see this?

any QB can be taught to throw with good technique
but can he be taught to be accurate. Many NBA players, despite intense great coaching and many years of practice, never learn to shoot a jump shot or foul shot accurately. (EXample 1A: Shaq)

Was Jennings more moldable than Harris? Guess we'll never find out. What about Eitling or McMillion? Can they actually be worse? Are Harris other attributes, his running mainly, worth the trade off for his terrible accuracy?
Is there a system Harris could be effective in? If not him, who?

Good technique at least gives the kid a shot a being a more accurate passer. Without it, he's still going to be all over the place.

Dude STFU.
You whine like a little bitch, then berate other people's opinions?
Coach Miles is staying for now, don't make it any worse on everyone else.
I haven't berated anybody. I did a facepalm at somebody wanting McMillan to play. I also stated my opinions on the QB position over Miles tenure.
If anybody is berating it is you for telling me to STFU. Sorry you cannot handle criticism of Miles.
And a huge LOL for my message board opinion making it worse on everyone else.

That really was the only option this year. What else can he do?
Whose fault was it that Harris was his only option?

I'm sure he does but what the hell is he going to do about. Cam and him put there eggs in the Brandon Basket. He is JJ all over without the attitude. Les needs to get of the damn mobile QB shite and find one who can hit the broad side of a barn.

You can see Harris' mechanics are off. He's throwing just with his wrist and does not get a good base or turn his hips on his throws. That can be corrected, if he's properly coached. I wonder if Cam is used to working with pro QBs and is no getting on the level with mechanics of a young developing QB.
We need an OC that's on the sideline that can calm a QB down and get them re-focussed. Harris showed he has the tools during the 1st half of the season.

In his presser last night, when asked about an overhaul for the offense, Les responded with "the engine(LM7)is fine". He did seem to agree that the passing game needed to be fixed, but, with that statement, basically promised more of the same. His response has been consistent, so expect more of the same. Booger had it right last night when he reported that the issues were still there.

He has seen this for 2 years.

Harris turns into the next Brandon Allen

On what planet was JJ better than Lee in 2011? Two unfortunate passes in Tuscaloosa ruined that season for us by allowing JJ to become the starter. And the offense instantly turned to shite.

there's really no other option
There were reports in fall camp that Etling looked better than Harris and Jennings.

That game rattled Lee and it appears that the game in Tuscaloosa this year did the same to Harris

BH needs to improve his decision making process. When he tries to hurry, bad things happen. Panic and failure are his worst enemies.
I think the coaches should enroll him in a 7 on 7 league that plays every day for 3 months, record the results and critique him weekly. he needs 100's of reps, not the 20 or so 3 days a week at practice.
Baseball sends their players to summer leagues for just that reason. As an ex catcher, I can promise accuracy can improve with reps, reps and more reps. Catchers have to make a baseball travel 121 feet and come within 9 sq. ft. with similar equipment that a football player has. All in less than 4 seconds. This is what he needs.

I agree with all that

1) LM's recruiting of the QB position has been atrocious.
2) His development of the QBs once they arrive has been even worse. Don't give me CamCam excuses because it's the same shite with every new OC.
3) Our offensive game plan during games is even worse than #1 and #2. Either run the ball or throw it 40 yards down the field. Nothing in between.
Don't worry, buddy. We have this great qb committed to us in this recruiting class. He will be our future LSU qb. His name is...hold on let me find it....ummm... wait a minute, are you telling me that we don't have a single qb committed in this recruiting class? Awesome job, Les.
Here's to 4 more years of awful qb play at LSU.

My sources say that Miles actually planted QB seeds in the greenhouse and we are waiting for them to mature...

With Les at the helm I'm not sure if it would matter much but would you all rather an OC that's a college coach as opposed to an NFL guy?

I think Harris' regression is a confidence problem
I have a different interpretation. Harris' regression is a "lack of development" problem. Early in the season, when we had opportunities to let him throw the ball (and develop as a QB), we were far too focused on running the ball 75% of the time and letting LF run up his numbers. When Bama had the game plan and the athletes to stuff LF and our running game, we essentially threw a first-year starter (with little experience throwing the ball) into the breach. Of course he couldn't win that game on his own, given his lack of throwing experience. Then, Arkansas and Ole Miss jumped out to early leads, while we were doubling down on our running game, and those games got out of hand. As a result, we again had to resort to relying on Harris' arm to keep us in the game. It didn't work in those games either. He showed the same ineffectiveness in the A&M game, but our defense kept it close so that the running game got us over the hump.
I expect the exact same scenario next year. We'll mostly run the ball early in the season, and then Bama will stuff us once again. The only problem is...with road games against Wisconsin, Florida, and Auburn prior to the Bama game, I highly doubt we'll be undefeated when Bama comes to Tiger Stadium.
