You absolutely do not. You go halfway if the ball is to left field or left center. From deep right center to deep right field you ALWAYS tag with 1 out from second base. And here's the thing, I can back this up with video footage from game after game after game from college and MLB. You sir, can not.

No you don't. There are no hard and fast rules like this at higher levels. These "rules" are for people that don't fully understand the game. The RF looked to have a bead on the ball. It's the right call to try to tag and get to third.

OFC you tag.. but you also use common sense depending upon each situation..
this ball was going away from the centerfielder.. he doesn't even to directly stand on 2nd to easily take third where this ball was hit.. the moment he dropped it he should have already been somewhat off the bag and took off.. he's the fastest guy and the ball is hit to the furthest part of the outfield.. LSU just play conservative with only 1 out, but he scores there.

Traditionally, yes, but that ball was a routine play. You go half way on tweener fly balls, but something straight forward where you can legitimately tag up and get to 3rd easy, you tag.
Everyone is looking at it in hindsight but that RF just herp derped it. As I said earlier, if he tags and gets to 3rd everyone gives him credit for being heads up.

He is supposed to tag there with that ball to right field looking like it would be caught. Can't believe y'all are fricking serious. Every coach would teach to tag there. Not even a debate.
