Those of us not sky screaming about the defense are the snowflakes. You nailed it.

He’s just downvoting everyone in the thread now.

Dude just said Delpits stock is dropping fast, then followed it up by using Delpit’s poor play as a reason Aranda sucks. He’s losing it.

I understand what he was saying and I understand the concept of the need to have a running game. What I would like to point out is our offense used to take possession and then go 3 and out and punt the ball. Now the offense is taking possession and driving the field and scoring. Even with the no huddle if you look at the game clock lots of snaps come with just a few seconds left, so at least the offense is taking more time in these possessions.
In the Texas game the main problem was the defense allowing all those 3rd down conversations and not the offense scoring too fast.

I think LSU used this game to run different zone coverages. Cover 2, some 3 and 4 where you play 3rd/quarters, etc. Now is the time to work on that. LSU is a press man with Single safety type team, that is our base coverage, but you can't stay in one coverage against a good QB and play caller. Mix, show one thing and change, etc.

The other thing is at this moment, when teams go 3 to 4 wides, LSU does not have that really good 3rd and 4th guy to play man. Kelvin Joseph would be getting lots of reps had he not transferred. Fott is a young guy that looks talented, he needs to get reps and be brought along to give LSU a 3rd cover guy.

Fans use to criticize Miles for not doing anything to develop the offense and young players in these rent a win type games, and they were correct. I think LSU is trying to develop the defense and work on things now that they are going to need later. Hopefully, LSU can have Vandy put away by mid 3rd and we can do that this week, and do the same against Utah State.

Great point. The young players are having to learn all these new coverages that is new to them. The mistakes in this last game will be a great learning tool, they will get better as the season progresses.

Great Post Dude ...

Negatigers gotta keep it up cuz that’s how they are wired ... You can’t help em it’s a disease of the brain and the eight years of Saban beat downs ... These kids are gelling

Proof

1. The 3 points allowed against GSU
2. Two Goal line stands vs A&M (1st Half) before the preparation issue (dehydration)
3. Second half shutout vs NW State ...

It’s a chess game every game and every call that Aranda makes ... And LSU has injuries to key personnel (no excuses) and depth issues

Fact is: LSU is allowing 17 per game not over 23 like last year

I may be wrong but I think that was KV's fault, he was deeper towards the hash and hadn't slid over and came in late on the throw. Looked to me, Stingley had the underneath zone and when he saw the qb let the ball go, he broke back towards the deeper route.

You could be right. Either one could have been responsible for the deep third on that play and without knowing exactly what play was called we won’t be able to tell. To me on the replay it just looked like Stingley thought they were playing man because he broke on the route in front of him while the rest of the team was playing zone.

“Concerns about LSU’s defense over the last 5 games.”

Gave up 278 total yards and 14 points Saturday (zero points and fewer than 100 yards second half)

Gave up 98 total yards and 3 points in the opener

Gave up 250 total yards in the bowl game

Gave up 4.5 yards per play over the last 5 games which would rank 2nd in the SEC.

Facts over narrative

Yeah, but this is the same idiot who said:

- Stingley needs to be used like Mathieu.

- Texas really scored 14 on the LSU defense in the first half.

- chavis was better than Aranda.

It's extremely difficult to pick out which of these is the dumbest. But he has no agenda here, right?

Bama gave up 4.9 yards per play last season, UGA gave up over 5 yards per play last season. Over this horrible 5 game stretch he keeps bringing up we gave up 4.5 yards per play.

Btw he also counts pick 6s against our defense.

Facts over narrative. Aranda’s defense is getting toasted. Gave up TD’s in every drive of the half something no LSU defense has done in years. Can’t create turnovers, can’t cover on one side of the field. Tell me if I missed something. Would be a heck of a turnaround by Aranda, if he has these guys ready to play against the big boyz of Fla, Aub, and Ala.

Hannagriff noted something interesting. Clemson loss a ton on defense and their DLine, yet they look great, look like the best defense out there. LSU loss very little, there are concerns but this can be fixed. Hope so!

Did NW St score at all in the second half? But they’re getting “toasted.”

You know, since you’re talking facts and all that.

Geez man. Just stop

I keep hearing this narrative and wonder if people forgot about how we shut down GSU. There have been issues but if anyone watched Game 1 and was concerned they are lying. So can we at least speak truth? I agree there are concerns.

It’s too bad you have to post paragraphs of opinions trying to convince people with zero data to support any of it because all the facts say the opposite. If you had the facts on your side you’d just post that but you don’t.

You are the one ignoring the facts though. They are perfectly laid out for you in this thread.
