There are 5 teams fighting for the last national seed, and I do not think it is blasphemous to suggest that it could be a tie-breaker working against LSU.

Exactly. No one is saying "ULL has a super so we CaNT give LSU one."

Moreso, "damn this is a close call, I guess since it's so close we might as well spread things out"

I recognize RPI as one measure but polls have to mean something as well

I disagree

RPI
Strength of schedule
Conference RPI
Conference resume
Conference tournament resume

Not in order

You and others realize a win tomorrow does in no way guarantee us a national seed? In fact it's probably still only a small chance even if we demolish Florida

Why do you think the committee automatically wants to pair ULL and LSU? Either location is a complete sellout for a Super Regional no matter who they play. Guaranteed. So it does nothing for the NCAA (or ESPN's ratings, for that matter) to pair LSU and ULL.

I could see LSU as a national seed paired with Rice and ULL paired with Ole Miss if LSU wins Sunday.

they do. That's why it's called a REGIONAL and super REGIONAL.

Do they not pair them up:

1 vs 16
2 vs 15
3 vs 14
etc.

?????

The tiebreaker would be our shitty OOC SOS, not the fact there is already a host in Lafayette

I still say lsu gets screwed because of ULL being a national seed.
Why?

Gotcha...yeah, that definitely not true. Regardless whether ULL is a national seed or not has nothing to do with lsu getting one...unless it comes down to splitting hairs between virtually equal choices by the committee.

This is 2014, they stuck with the "regional" and "super regional" title for nostalgia sake.

LSU played in a LA regional
UC Irvine played in an Baton Rouge Super Regional

I'm talking pairing regional hosts here. The only thing that would stop a pairing of LSU and ull super would be if they are both national seeds.

I disagree with that...I think we've basically gotten our odds up to about 50% IMO. With a win of course, score doesn't matter at all.

IMO, it's a rice/LSU battle for the last spot. (TCU/OSU the other)

Not disagreeing with you, but it ticks me off because strength of schedule is a component of RPI.

Why was there a Eugene and Corvallis super regional then? Tallahassee, Gainsville and Miami? Irvine and Fullerton? Austin and Fort Worth? South Carolina and Clemson?
