I agree about the split.
Here’s a look at voting

As they should.

It’s hard to argue with the stats.

But do they have votes? If not, mute point.

Do you think Tim Brando will vote JD5?

Here's some other notable votes that make me wonder:

Pat Forde (yeah I know...barf, but he has a vote)
Clay Henry
Jim Henderson (NOLA)
Gentry Estes (24/7, grew up in Bama though)
Chris Low
Todd McShay
Russ Mitchell (Moscona's boy)
OJ Simpson (ha!)

Paul Finebaum. I think he would be loyal to the SEC

But:

The actual ballots include a space for electors to designate three individuals for the Heisman Trophy. The first choice on an elector’s ballot receives three points in the overall voting tabulation, the second choice receives two points and the third choice receives one point.

Seems like if they (west coast) vote each other 1 and 2 they would win?
But if they try and knock out the other west coast candidate maybe a split.

Joel Klatt

1. Penix
2. Harrison
3. Daniels
4. Nix

Around 32:00 mark he explains Daniels path.

True, but theoretically Daniels could effectively “sweep” the South #1 votes and Penix/Nix would split the West#1 votes… so one would still think advantage Daniels in that regard.

It seems to me the “national talking head” consensus seems to be trending Daniels. Obviously Not all of them have a vote, but nonetheless those talking heads still highly influence voting.

I’m an LSU fan so I’m biased, but it seems pretty clear to me that Daniels is certainly “trending” as the favorite. He will need to have good/great performances in the final 2 games and some great stats. And obviously we need to win the 2 games
