It doesn't matter who is paying for it. Those same people will be paying for the new HC's salary. you don't spend $10m to get rid of a coach, only to hire a coach that no one wants.

Coach O will still be available in 3 years. Let's give someone else a shot first...if it doesn't work out, O will be sitting at home waiting for alleva to call. Mmmmkay?

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Miles was an OC and a HC at a P5 program for years before coming to LSU. Not even remotely close to the same scenario.

But as usually, I'm sure you'll ask me how old I am. For some strange reason.

I have no idea what the outcome of this season will be and neither does Booger. He's a former player who I wish wasn't. The guy is embarrassing.

I like Booger. I respect him but I also don't think he's being realistic.

No one knows what will transpire between now and the end of the season.

Booger should know better.

He generally calls it as he sees it but to sort of "look into his crystal ball" and say there's no chance is very ridiculous.

Let's see how the season plays out before you start stating absolutes, no?

When I told you guys Les was getting fired that Sunday nobody believed me. I also said the one thing the people that were making the call were afraid of was Ed winning out and thus FORCING there hand to keep him. That being said if he wins out he's the coach, plain and simple. He doesn't have to win the Natty UNLESS HE MAKES THE PLAYOFF. Like I said people he needs to win each and every game he plays. He does that then it's his gig. I know this for a fact.

Texas maybe. Notre Dame has been a DEAD END for Head Coaches for the last 20 years! Kelly is the only coach to win more than 60% of the games(67%)!

Booger McFarland is a good example of the "Peter Principal".

Unless someone else is writing his material and he is just a parrot.

At least he has a 50-50 chance of being correct. If he is correct he can claim to be a Guru.

When you look at where Bama, OM, Arkansas, UF, and A&M rank now, and will be ranked when we get to the end of the season, if O runs the table, it would be an even more impressive finish than Saban in 01 and Miles in 05. It would be a huge accomplishment to run that gauntlet.

It is unlikely, but if he and the team pull it off, the search is done and he will have EARNED the job. If it were to occur and he keeps the core of this staff together and makes a few key additions, recruiting won't miss a beat and this team will be riding a wave of momentum into next year. The real key with him is whether he can make those staff decisions, but keeping Aranda would make that job a LOT easier.

Since LSU might have already locked up a coach before they pulled the trigger on Miles, it wont matter what Coach O does, and maybe why Booger says this

Your HC doesn't need to be a damn QB whisperer. Your OC needs to understand how to best utilize talent and your QB coach needs to understand how to best coach his guys to be their best and to try to best put them in a position to succeed. Saban isn't a QB whisperer, he wins all the time. He lets his assistants coach and they recruit guys that can play the way they want or can be coached in or adjust their scheme to help.

There is no coach locked up. There was last year and look how that turned out. O needs to win every game he plays. Like I said, that doesn't mean he has to win the Natty unless he's in it. Win out and he's in. Lose one and he's gone.
