Kevin Steele is a great recruiter, put him in a top 5 talent state like Louisiana should be a great fit, players make plays not schemes #LSU

Lets get behind this!

And when brick bolts, it opens up a spot for O.

Why even hire a coach?

He is saying the guy can recruit but cant coach.

I love player quotes. They never think they should be coached.

All the while, the best coaches churn players and remain on top.

How come everyone that compliments Steele talks about his recruiting? We hired him to be our defensive coordinator. Somebody is going to have to decide whether to blitz or not, play man or zone, even or odd front, etc.

Why listen to Booger? What can he know compared to the football geniuses on the Rant?

Hate to disagree Booger. You are right that getting players is the most important thing, but they have to have expert guidance in today's landscape. We have had many talented players on offense, but the scheme has held the players back. I do not have any opinion of Steele until we see the results of his tenure at LSU.

Booger is right on this one! Just like Louisiana athletes made Saban, and #1 recruiting of the nation has made Saban at Blammer...LSU should be able to combine Louisiana + a few more 5 Stars and win a NC...assuming a proper QB is part of the future...lol jmho

Seriously, I've read one thread tonight praising the man's coaching abilities, and the admins deleted the thread.

Go figure.

Well.. We've finished with top 10 recruiting classes 6 of the last 8 years.
And only finished ranked in the top 10 2 out of 8 times.
It's obviously a combination of coaching and players. And the coaching just took a hit, no matter how you spin it.

if this is the case then why isn't our offense the tits? aren't we supposed to be stacked with offensive talent?

While I like how he is being positive and all that...

But come on. It's way more than just about having talent. And it's not like we have been short on defensive talent, or talent in general, the last few years anyways.

I don't think Brick bolts because he was KS's DC from 1999-01 at Baylor. The only time Brick has been a DC.
