There's also a "team Staley" vs "team Mulkey" thing going one, with some racial overtones to it.

Definitely playing a lot on Mulkey the white woman with a country accent vs the black woman out of Philly.
It’s so juicy for the woke media types to grab and run with.

Writer Babb tries to paint LSU as some unfair employer with their priorities out of whack. Their example is an unidentified employee who gets paid several thousand dollars per year while Kelly as Head football coach is paid millions of dollars per year. He uses LSU as am example and the villain in his piece despite Kelly being, at the time, the 7th highest paid FB HC in college football?

It's worse than that.

They did name the guy who only makes $12k per year. He's a grad student and he pays no tuition, just like........almost every single grad student with a teaching aid position throughout the course of higher education history.

This "journalist" also doesn't seem to understand that Brian Kelly is paid from a totally different pot.

He's just a hack.

Not sure what Collis Temple has against LSU

Especially since he had his candidate hired as LSU President even though he had missed the application deadline and had not submitted anything. Last time I checked, LSU is a public institution. That means they follow the hiring protocol of the State. The process was not followed when hiring the current President.

Don't get me wrong, this is not an indictment of Dr. Tate as I think he has done a good job so far. This is CT not following the law.

As someone who has spent the better part of half century as a news/sports reporter, I would be smart enough to recognize that if someone has refused to comment for two years, they are not going to comment, which is their right. The ultimatum the writer gave Mulkey is nothing more than a bullying tactic and not professional.

I would say it is something more than just a bullying tactic (and i am not even sure that designation of the questionnaire is correct). I think the reporter wants something in his/her file that demonstrates that KM was given an opportunity to comment/ respond on these specific topics. It really does not matter that the reporter doesn't expect a response or gave little time to respond. It is just evidence that at least in theory, Mulkey could have provided a response to these particular issues. A lawyer may have suggested this.

It's a typical tactic . They end the story with "we reached out to xyz, but at press time they have not responded.". Makes the target look evasive.

Except she did respond as to why she wasn't going to respond.

people still think she didn't respond to the Griner/Russia story because the media said she didn't. She literally had a sit-down conversation with a media member explaining her thoughts on it. But, she didn't answer questions in 12 straight press conferences, so the media has people believing she wouldn't talk about it.

Their tactics work because they are purposefully manipulative and the public is ignorant and lazy.

You can show people the text from that tiger rag podcast and they still won't change their mind.

They don't care about Griner. They just hate Mulkey and will hold onto anything to justify that.
