He's got a point though, I don't think we'll look that bad defensively again. (Fingers crossed )

And despite how bad it was overall, if Jobert makes one routine play, we win that game.

Stop white knighting for players just because you feel you need to.

Jobert fricked us tonight.

I'll white knight for a player getting shite on by you bunch of dumbasses.

We are talking about a ball that off the bat I was just hoping would not end up in the foul bleachers and could be caught. Jobert had a long run and likely was splitting his attention from checking to see where the wall was and looking back for the ball. He over run the ball. He drifted back to fair territory. It should have been caught, but it wasn’t just a can of corn where the right fielder didn’t have to move.

The ball that landed in fair territory... yes.

Jobert’s one play didn’t cost us the game. As I pointed out, Tanks could have got us out of that inning earlier. Floyd had two, 2 strike counts with a chance to end the inning at 6-2 and he couldn’t get it done. We gave up 5 in the top of the 7th, an inning that had nothing to do with Jobert.

I wasn't there so can't say for sure. It looked like it should have been caught fairly easily and it also looked like everyone else thought that as well (players and coaches). The ball landed in fair territory though, so it's hard to take your point serious.

At least Jobert had to worry about the wall down the first base line

This is disappointing as I expect much better from you. Why was he worried about the wall when the ball landed fair? In your best case scenario it’s like a 30 foot misread.
Awful.
Awful.
On par with Johnson’s game 1 total mismanagement last week.

You’re going to lose games in the SEC. You can’t afford to piss away games due to sheer incompetence on top of it, and we have now done that twice.

Fair territory in that right field corner is no more than three steps from the fence. Jobert was running full speed at it. His attention was split between the wall, perhaps the bullpen, and the ball. (Here’s Ell’s chance to blame the bullpens being on the field)

I agree with this. It was a team effort to lose this game tonight.

Jobert’s play was just the worst possible timing. 2 outs and bases loaded. If he drops it 3 runs are scoring and it’s a triple, and he dropped it.

If it’s the lead off batter, no one really cares.

They scored 4 runs from the point he didn't make the play... 3 of them directly from that play. It turned a 6-3 lead with 2 outs into a 7-6 deficit with 2 outs.

I've lost track on which posters stan for which players, but if Jobert has been your guy all season, tonight would be the night to log off. There's no defending what that miscue in the field tonight. And we haven't even mentioned the baserunning blunder that killed a rally.

He cost us the game.

He was running full speed from his positioning in the RF gap. It certainly was in his head.

And Jobert was leading the team.

Just like we celebrate a Skenes or Crews performance for winning a game, even though the team helped out, you have to point out who fricked up when we lose.

Jobert fricked up bad tonight and it cost us the game.

Yeah, sloppy baseball tonight by both teams at times. Kentucky missed I don't know how many foul balls that were catchable, bobbled balls, same with us. Jobert should be up at 7:45 catching pop flies. Unless he lost it in the stadium lights, there is no excuse and I think he knows it, or hope he does. 3 runs, homie. That's the difference in tonight's game.

That being said it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he hit 3 dingers tomorrow to make up for it

A 6-3 lead also changes our pitching decisions the next couple of innings. We prob dont stick with herring as long and go guidry. And herring likely doesnt have an error throwing to first on a bunt attempt because they cant bunt down 3
