This is true. I remember we started off the 2004 season against.. Oregon St I think. It was a close game we won in OT. It was a sloppy game, it rained A LOT for most of the game, there was a lightening delay, etc. I was glad the team was able to stay in the game and pull out the W, however; I remember listening to the post game show on the way home and callers were calling in asking questions like "do you think Saban has started dialing it in after winning the championship? Is he getting too complacent?"This was after 1 game.
Not to mention that we won that game in OT due to a missed extra point. But it was Miles that made fans leave early because of his ugly wins.

Let it go....he's gone. Base your theory on something beyond 2 games. I bet offensively exciting losses will not keep the fans in the seats either.
In the end....Les is gone, and so is January 2012 for that matter--not that you mentioned 2012--but your post just gives off that kind of vibe.

Sorry gentlemen Miles and his squandering of talent got fired. Time for you to move on.
Says the fricking idiot that started a Les Miles thread. He's gone dumdum, time for you to move on.
By the way, that squandering of talent coach got the LSU program 112 wins over his career while he was here.

If he'd gooten to 114/115 with a couple more of those being Bama victories, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Because it's absolutely true...
So I think you are being proven wrong.
Miles did one thing for sure, he ushered in an entitled wuss arse generation of Tiger fans. Not only are they entitiled, they are mostly ignorant of the game itself.

Well that's a new one.

Not only are we leaving early, we don't even know what we're watching during the time we stay. Probably a by-product of being without the forward pass for so many years.

Ones that bitch about every: penalty, punt, kickoff, incomplete pass, rush of less than 9 yards. Continually blab on about a ruling they have no idea about. Just generally miserable people.
Punt on the first possession...'well, here we go again"
Give up a first down..."we suck, I thought this Arandel guy was good...fire Alleva"
and on and on and on. If I was that fricking miserable, I would leave too.

Ya know, I wanted to mock/troll you, but I can't. You're right...completely. Sitting in my seat through an entire game, and listening to the conversation around me, proves your point over and over again. So I won't argue it.
That said, if the only fans in attendance were those with a working knowledge of all the rules and strategies of the game, there wouldn't be that many people in attendance. Sports/Universties need the casual fan to be successful. They can scream just as loudly, and their cash spends just as well, as you and I. But there are a plethora of idiots, no doubt.

This probably applies to 70% of the fans.

Of course they do, but their constant whine and discontent over something that is just a normal game time happening just has them sit on their hands and sulk. Cant scream on third down when you are still mad they completed a 7 yard pass on second.
If you listen to the average LSU fan Alabama hasn't lost in twelve years and just gave up putting a punter on the roster.

The fan base reacted the same when Saban was here as they do now and have done during Miles. The only difference is that a lot of people didn't like Miles from the get go. I remember working with a guy who didn't like Miles, he would always talk about how he just can't bring himself to like him. One day I asked why and his response was "because he was in Gerry DiNardo's wedding so if he was close enough to be in his wedding, they share some of the same football philosophy".
That part about DiNardo's wedding shows the 5 year old mentality of some of this fanbase. Oh the horror that Miles was friends with another coach! The fans crying because Miles would wear a white ball cap or a long sleeve shirt/jacket on the sidelines during games. Didn't Les realize that how he dressed was more important than winning games to such a large portion of the fans?
How he talked and seemed to enjoy himself during most of his press conferences. Damn you Miles for being different! Yet the same asshats that would complain about this are the same ones that keep saying "I can't wait for Coach O to rip his shirt off yaw, yaw, yaw."
I personally don't give a frick if the head coach stutters like Mel Tillis as long he wins more then he loses.
And then there's the OP, poor little soul, he got the football life sucked out of him by that mean old Miles. He's spent his entire adult life during the most successful sustained period of LSU football and he's unhappy.
Entitled fricking crybaby!

The Oregon State kicker missed three extra points that game. Yet Miles is the only coach that wins games because of luck.

Perhaps not, but there would still be idiots on here complaining about something related to Miles.

Funny that with all the threads popping up now..and why now??...this is the first that blames CLM. He lost me 2 yrs ago but what I keep reading here, from what I assume to be a wide variety of fans of all ages, it's 1) the traffic 2) length of games 3) the hot weather 4) the poor bathrooms, 5) the shitty games 6) too many other games on tv 7) it's too expensive, etc. NO one has mentioned CLM. I find it odd now that he's gone a few wks, he's to blame for our crappy fans, fans who admit they prefer to sit in chairs & get drunk that spending a few hrs in what was once one of the most iconic college football settings in the country. Our fans suck. Quit blaming someone else & deal with it.

Less Miles
Less winning
Less fun
Less winning

Miles' soporific, plodding brand of football contributed.
The predictable arc of the last several seasons contributed.
The disillusionment stemming from 1/9 contributed.
Five straight losses to Bama contributed.
The fact that we haven't won an NC in almost a decade contributed.
But mostly, more than anything, the current crop of LSU FB fans is riddled with lazy dilettantes who are more interested in sleep and binge watching Game of Thrones than actual football.
