Personnel problem... Penn at lb is a waste; DB's are soft at tackling and not being coached up, many times out of position; on Milroe's 4 td runs Penn is nowhere to be seen and the DB's shy away from any contact and are not in position to stop the runs

Ryan, Burns and Gilbert are absolute liabilities.

When is the last time a safety saved a big play?

You want to know why the read option works?

They run the RB strongside at Weeks and Penn and they make the safety have to read the play.

Any play that puts pressure on our Safeties is going to be successful.

There’s only so much a defense can do when your offense is consistently handicapping you by not scoring from the red zone and turning the ball over. What was bama’s TOP? I think Baker is the real deal. Sloan is an amateur OC with inexperienced and/or inferior talent at most skill positions.

Orgeron would personally call prospective recruits every day . I bet CBK delegates that to someone . The recruits want to hear from the head coach . I think Orgeron suffered from burnout , honestly .

BK has had 2 recruiting classes and that means they are underclassmen, I guess that means LSU should win with inexperienced players.

LSU has enough talent on defense to play better than they are. I hate to tell everyone but the teams that can stop running QBs or slow them down and get off the field on 3rd down are NOT loaded with all SEC players. To use recruiting or supposed inexperience is simply using excuses. Good DC and good OC compensate for any perceived weaknesses. Blake Baker is apparently not able to do that. Blake Baker also has made 0...I mean absolute 0 adjustments to stop running QBs or get off the field on 3rd and long. Good coaches with equal or lesser talent do that.

Looks like a rerun of Matt House as DC.

In what universe? The defense isn't particularly great but it's demonstrably better in almost every statistic compared to last year, and we have the potential to finish this season with the same record as last year, only with vastly inferior quarterback and wide receiving corps. I get it's not popular on this board, but we're really not regressing nearly as much as everyone claims.
