And I quote….. “If in years past, it was 100% recruiting, it’s now a margin lower than that, but relationships still matter. The ability to connect and build those relationships matter. I think as we continue to navigate through this New World Order if you will, there’s going to be a market that flattens the lines. In other words, receivers are X, quarterbacks are X (dollars). When that becomes even across the board, it’s going to swing back to relationships. It’s going to swing back to those that can connect and those programs that can fit. So maybe right now the pendulum has swung a little bit towards the other way, but it’s going to come back”

So until it balances out, LSU should cut the shadow recruiting staff down significantly and put that money elsewhere. No reason to have so much in recruiting when the only thing that matters how right is money to recruits.

If they really want to push heavy into recruiting need to put more in scouting and identifying players who fall through the cracks and likely would at least initially come for nothing but could be stars. The program that figures this one out will be the one who navigates NIL era well.

I think he's right. We're in the Wild West phase, but it will settle down. When? Who knows. But the Wild West isn't sustainable.

Could you imagine O and Ponamsky being in charge of handling this kind of craziness?

Time for the state to find a way to give portions of the tourism tax to NIL at LSU. As a public university they can figure out how to do that.

They can create the business justifications that the more winning for LSU, means more money for the state.

Edit: for the downvoters see the state of Missouri, not apples to apples but the take away is a state is being proactive of finding ways for NIL to benefit their largest university.

I couldn’t begin to fathom what it would be like with those two overgrown kids in charge of this mess.

You might see a rise in independent scouting services.

PFF should be considering how to monetize their system with universities

We’d have a team that would struggle in the Catholic league

He gets it. Sucks for him that the old model that gave us the ultimate advantage is now gone.

It’s funny that he associates recruiting now to the New World Order.

This board already goes into melt down mode over the handful of three stars they recrui. I cant imagine what would happen as you suggested.

Get use to it, the players will not accept change, NIL is here to stay.

Didn’t say it wasn’t. Reporting what BK said in a presser. However, any fan has the right to choose whether or not they want to support what’s happening now or to what extent they will moving forward. I personally know tons that have said the passion isn’t in it for them anymore. I’m teetering on that myself. I’ll still watch LSU, but that’s it. Gone are the days of me following college football, recruiting and the whole nine yards. Players be careful what you ask for as it may not be what they think it is in the long run.

Hell the NBA’s viewership has dropped 48% since 2012 because of the lame game and having it be a player run league so much to the extent that they’ll tell you what games they’ll play in and how many games they’ll sit for load management while playing no defense whatsoever. When the product put out by the players ceases to hold the public’s eye, networks make drastic changes eventually. College football already has so many fans saying the passion is going away for them with the rent a player every year model. If you think that’s a recipe for success, you’re sadly mistaken.
