Damn, I always hated ND fans, but now I REALLY hate those MFers.

In Brian Kelly's first public remarks about Greg, he even mentioned going to the hospital to see him.

Never ever forget that "no good deed goes unpunished".

The Real blame is with the docs at OLOL
This isn’t putting a bandaid on a little cut
This is BRAIN surgery. Every single neurosurgeon will have cases that end up like Brooks

LSU by far has the deepest pockets.
I'd say the insurance company for the surgeon and OLOL has the deepest pockets

Maybe or it’s possible it was just a very risky procedure with low odds of success. I’d hope the family was informed of all the risks involved, but it’s possible that could’ve been the issue for an emergency surgery

$500,000 cap on that

no it's not. The type of surgery he underwent had a very very slim chance at a full recovery. That type of thing is made known to the patient before the surgery is performed. It's a shitty situation to be in, but doctors are not miracle workers.

The blame is with this so called journalist, michael strahan. He wanted a "big hit" interview. I wouldn't doubt it if he "nodged" Greg's dad to take a shot at Brian Kelly.
I guarantee if the same thing happened at Notre Dame, Strahan would be urging the dad to say how great Marcus Freeman was and that he was there 24/7 and only left to coach the games on Saturday.
These "interviews" by liberals are always to make a political statement.
I used to like the guy, but you can tell now that his "smile" and personality is fake.
The same guy who cheated his way to be the "Sack" leader.

There's a $500k cap on lawsuits against government entities too. A state university, I would imagine, falls underneath that umbrella.
ETA: did some cursory case law research and there is a published case from 2023 re LSU Shreveport that addresses this
quote:
Here, it is well settled under Louisiana law that state universities are not juridical entities capable of being sued, namely because they do not function independently. Rather, state universities are agencies or divisions under the supervision and management of another governmental entity. See Hall v. Bd. of Supervisors of Cmty. & Tech. Colleges, No. CIV.A. 15-67, 2015 WL 2383744, at *2 (E.D. La. May 18, 2015); Williams v. Louisiana, No. CV 15-2353, 2017 WL 359218, at *3 (W.D. La. Jan. 24, 2017). Accordingly, Louisiana State University in Shreveport is dismissed with prejudice.
That $500k cap against physicians also doesn't exclude or limit past and future medical expenses.
What is interesting, however, is there are other allegations outside the scope of his actual injury for which he is suing LSU. He is suing them on NIL grounds, HIPAA violations, giving the doctor a "hero" award without asking him about it, and disseminating false and misleading information about him

First off, it's an unfortunate situation and you hate it for the kid and family, That being said, they are mad and are tagging LSU along to get paid. This kid meant a lot to the team and I highly doubt LSU turned away from him. You can go back to the time of press conferences, interviews, etc....to see that LSU was supporting this family.

He is one of the only players in the history of lsu football to have his number on the field during a game……
Amazing they are trying to gaslight people lsu left him behind

How do you know this? A poor outcome does not equal medical malpractice in every situation.
Have you read the medical records? Have you had them reviewed by an expert physician to get an opinion on the outcome which involved removing a tumor from the brain?
So many people here believed every word Brooks Sr said in that one sided and slanted interview. People are assuming due to the outcome, something had to have been done wrong. Maybe and maybe not. There's no way to know at this point, particularly regarding the medical procedure. Hopefully, none of the gullible people will be selected for the jury. Both sides get to present their cases. After that, and only after that, is a decision made.
ETA: That's if it goes to trial and if some or all of the allegations are not dismissed via summary judgment which is possible.

Insurance will settle, it will be up to the parents how far they want to push the settlement.
