For what it’s worth, he did grade out the highest of the oline against Tech.

What does this have to do with

However, the fact that he is the backup as multiple different positions is an indictment on this coaching staff.

We have had a “first off bench” offensive lineman under multiple coaches. Sometimes you just have a sixth best lineman that is much more ready than the 2nd best center or 3rd best tackle…

Yea in which the rest of the Oline should be utterly embarrassed over that. Chester got his arse whooped on most plays and he still graded the highest?!? What does that say about the other guys?

I know. I'm not saying that have a "first off bench " lineman is a bad thing. I'm saying that the "first off bench" lineman being someone of DJ Chester's caliber is not great.

He plays too tall, which leads to getting blown up.

all that means is that he is better than all our other olinemen at any position, and that is downright scary.

There is kind of a fine line on a topic like this. But dogging a 21 year old trying to contribute to his team on the internet makes you a loser honestly.

Engaging 1 on 1 and getting pushed straight back has nothing to do with coaching.

Yes it does. And lemme guess. You’re going to want an explanation.

Im pretty sure coaches that get paid as much as they do have told him to get low and under their pads. No, I don’t need an explanation from a dumb, smartass kid. I’ve played plenty of football. I just knew some dumb shite was going to say this, looks like I found him.

Armchair coaches are always undefeated and win the NC every year. They know more than BK. Knew more than Saban during his time here as well.

DJ is an excellent team player. I trust them to put in the next-best man. He’s good for the job while the others develop through the season.

DJ Welter deserved it man. That dude was terrible lol. The fact he was our most serviceable linebacker should have been the nail is Les Miles coffin lol

Oh? Show some genius. Who would be more valuable at center? Injury is a major part of college football.

Okay old man. It’s just that the intelligence required to understand was very minimal.

Looks like you failed.

You’re an idiot, I’m far from old. Yeah, you lack the intelligence to know that kind of coaching has been done since the day he stepped foot on a football field and he still can’t do it.

Playing and being productive is two different things
You can flip it the other way too. You can have all of the talent in the world, but if you don't know the blocking scheme, you are a liability.

What this really says is that the young guys are not putting in the work to understand the offense. My hope is that Chester will remain a stop-gap until the newer/younger guys come along. I feel like the OL will evolve as the season progresses.
