This is what will likely happen. You have one side that thinks LSU can get by with a "reset" that will undo the damage of the BK era. The other side is afraid LSU is one the edge and a bad hire can set the program back a decade.

Bill Arnsparger was good during his stay. Anyway, I submit that college football is moving in directions that make the pro model interesting for a program of LSU's stature.

Could be a swing and miss. Could be setting the bar and standard moving forward, too.

Patrick Peterson suggested Joe Brady and truth be known, the college game is more like the NFL today than it ever has been

Pay Saban 3 years $60mm and tell him to align all boosters, players and right the ship. Only he can get everyone on board and clean out the stink.

He will raise 3x that money in 3 years. Make him say no.

Does anyone believe in Brian hartline or is he still too green with no HC experience?
It’s not just HC experience, he only has two months of play calling experience.

Others want a person with a NFL background who can come in with a staff that is familiar with the NFL type model that college football is sliding towards. They also want someone who can set high standards and help players to reach them.

An NFL Coach with no NIL or Transfer portal experience is a bad idea.

If Kliff Kingsbury couldn’t succeed at Texas Tech, what makes you think he will succeed at LSU? Sure he’s an offensive wizard, and has revived his career again as an OC, but that’s the extent of it. Kingsbury consistently fielded the worst defenses in the country during his time at Texas Tech.

Nobody has ever had much success at Florida outside of Spurrier, Meyer, and maybe Mullen sort of.

Nobody’s had much success at LSU outside of Saban, Miles, and Orgeron that one season. Silly point.

It looks like this group has the most members. However, I cannot say if they have the most pull. There are also people trying to assert themselves into the decision making process at every level

I love how everyone on the rant suddenly has insight into what's going on behind the scenes. It is like the BOS and the AD are all posting here on the rant.
