Les still was and is the coach who followed the best college coach ever and proceeded to win at a higher rate than he ever did at LSU.

Multiple recruiting failures in the nineties. Marshall Faulk, Kordell Stewart, etc.

Honey Badger being suspended and dismissed.

Although not quite as good in 2012 as we were in 2011, I think if #7 is there we win the SEC again. Had Bama beat in Death Valley and let them off the hook.

link?
He never said that shite.
and if it was so built why did a staff of Saban, jimbo, muschamp, and Kirby smart lose 3 games in year 5?

No way Mathieu gets kicked off the team if we win in 2011. That Iowa State upset cost us two titles at minimum.

Skip did a long interview with Charlie on ESPN Radio Baton Rouge.

I know it doesn't fit your narrative, but that doesn't mean he didn't say it.

Like the only coach to beat Saban that year? You're a joke.

Miles had a month to prepare and a NFL QB in Met on the rooster. Only a dumb frick like him would think you could run the ball straight at the Bama D and win.

If Miles is so great as you imply, why did he take one of the bet teams in LSU history and get blown out 21-0 in a national championship game.

We did. 1987-1997 is 11 championships.

That game will forever hurt.

We win that one, and we enter the sports duscussion as one of the best teams to have ever played the sport of CFB.

You don’t often have a team that good in a year where you can prove it by playing multiple power 5 conference champs in a season.

Mett wasn't prepared after spring and fall camps and the light didn't come on until halfway through the next season.
Wouldn't have been too bright to subject a statue to the wrecking ball that was Bama's DL on 1-9-12 and possibly lose him for 2012.
Had he gotten hurt you'd be the first to ridicule Miles for putting in an immobile QB with a porous OL and ruining the future.

11-5-11 says you dumb.

IMO, some are missing the connection between Ryan Perrilloux's dismissal and its fallout that came to fruition on 1/9/12.

If Perrilloux had played in '08, then there would in all likelihood been a very different offense on the field in '11.

For one, Crowton would probably still have been the OC (he was processed after '10). In '08, with JLee at QB we had 200+ yds rushing vs Bama. In '10 (after Les allowed us to open up the offense) we scored 21 pts vs Bama in the 2nd half alone (we haven't broken 20 since) and had over 200 yds rushing. This isn't intended to sound like an apology for Crowton, only to say had Perrilloux not happened a lot of other dominoes wouldn't have fallen.

True, my mistake but the point still stands. LSU would have been ahead in BCS era championships 3-1 and LSU would have had all the momentum as the best team to ever step on the field. And that label would have been very hard to deny.

And on top of that. If OK state gets in over Alabama there isn't a push for a playoff and Alabama doesn't make it in in 2017. So that game basically allowed Alabama to play for 2 additional National Championships.

So you support the offense we ran in the 2011 natty, and based on your FACTS would have had the same game plan.

I told my friends Miles would do just what he did, and asked how would we score points.

Because it appears you have a low IQ, I will let you in on a secret.

YOU WILL NEVER RUN THE BALL AT SABAN WITH DOUBLE TIGHTS AND A FULLBACK AS YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER.

Fyi, The game we won vs bama that season, had nothing to do with offense. Credit the defense and the punting of wing.

The impact of that game has been grossly overstated by this board. I believe Alabama would STILL have been selected for the FBSNC game 1/9/2012

A 1 loss Alabama wouldn't have gotten into the BCSNC over an undefeated big 12 champ OSU.

Did it really take you 2 weeks to come up with a reply that has nothing to do with my post?
I posted about immobile QBs and you babble about 22 sets.

But to answer you irelevant nonsense, Miles was competitive in '08, '09, '12, '14 and won in 2007, 2010, and 2011 with a mix of 22, 21, 12 and 11 sets(maybe even a couple 10s but wouldn't bet on it).
Also pretty sure he has more or as many victories over Saban as anyone since he left LSU.

In the past, without question not wining it all with Shaq, Roberts and Jackson on same team.

Looking into the future: Not going after Kiffin as head coach. He will be back in the SEC just so he can play against Saban. I think we will regret our chance 10yrs from now. I know he probably wasn't even considered and would have been a risky hire, but he would have taken the LSU head coach job.
