Pretty sure SportScience didn't exist in Billy Cannon's day.

Marcus Spears lol.
He was a decent athlete with great coordination. Hardly a freak. Too fat and slow

Billy Cannon was a freak way beyond his days. He probaly would start at LSU today. You cant say that about many guys from even 20 years ago. He was hell of a football player and LSU's only Heisman winner. Jimmy Taylor wasnt to bad either. LSU has had some great football players thru the years. Bert Jones wasnt to bad of a quaterback either.

"Cannon ran the 100 yard dash in 9.4 seconds - still slower than Holiday, but look at the other differences between the two!"
Don't forget Cannon ran his 9.4 on a cinder track at LSU, not on a modern composite track. A significant difference. At the time his 9.4 was only 0.1 of a second off the World Record of 9.3. And this from a guy who weighed as much as some linemen of his day.

"Were you at SEC track meets as a high schooler?? "
Yes, and on the LSU track team right after Cannon.
