re: Biggest area of concern heading into early part of season

I don’t particularly think LSU has to necessarily worry about the offensive line because of moves made this offseason, but it has to be something to definitely keep an eye on just because of the magnitude of the losses. The Tigers had one of the best tackle duos in all of college football last season in Will Campbell and Emery Jones, who were first- and third-round NFL draft picks. They lost four starters across the line in total. DJ Chester and Tyree Adams are back in different spots, while Brian Kelly added Braelin Moore from Virginia Tech.
Garrett Nussmeier enjoyed tremendous protection in 2024 as the Tigers’ offensive front yielded just 16 sacks in 2024, one of the lowest totals in the country. How the unit gels in 2025 could go a long way in determining the team’s fortunes.

Joe Brady is almost like Will Wade. Joe Brady was fine when he had several future hall of famers on the field. Not so much at times when he moved on. Also, Slinger was a big part of that, and most of you people give him little to no credit.
TLDR: Brady deserves every bit of the praise he gets here. Guy was unstoppable and not just bc of HOF players.
I'm gonna respectfully disagree. I know Joe Brady gets lots of praise here but I believe every bit of it is well deserved and then some.
No argument that he had perhaps some of the best offensive weapons to ever play for LSU, and yes, that made his job that much easier in many ways.
However, here are a few of his contributions that stand out to me as key factors in the success of that offense.
1. The 10,000 catches over the summer each WR was challenged with achieving played a huge role in the timing with JB which built incredible confidence to put the ball up in traffic at any time knowing these guys would go and get it. Think 3rd and 17. Can you remember another year when LSU calls that play and successfully executes it. I would bet 90%+ of the Tiger teams I've seen over the years either run the ball there and punt/play for field position or maybe dump off a short pass or a screen. The execution on that one play set the tone for the rest of that season, IMHO.
2. The playbook that year was nothing like anything we've ever seen at LSU certainly. Sure, it was Paytons offense but he owned it and commanded it. Stretching out the LOS and going 4 and 5 wide had guys running open all over the field and was almost like having a cheat code.
3. His situational play calling was unpredictable and unstoppable. Queue the gif of him saying "they cant fricking stop it!" The playcalling had us dictating to the defense how they had to play us and he used that flawlessly in setting up following plays.
Yes, he had future HOF players but I would bet if you transplanted Brady from that year as OC into the Les Miles tenure (and Les was forced into somehow actually not interfering) we would have at least one more MNC and possibly 2 or 3. Imagine LF7 in the Brady offense.
Sorry for the wall of text! Been sitting in the waiting room of the ER drinking coffee for almost three hours this morning!
Cheers!

This right here! Have they made changes to help Nuss till the line gels.
We all know that's BKs strong suit!

I have no idea what to expect from the defense.

Much like me, you lack the escapeability

Biggest question mark heading into the season in my opinion is has Kelly & Sloan revamped the offense sufficiently to consistently get the ball out of Nuss' hand quickly and has there been some creativity added to the run game to not be so vanilla and predictable enough to be effective.
I totally agree. I think early on we will see a lot of quick throws to take some of the pressure off our inexperienced OL and to also slow down other teams from blitzing on every play.

QB injury. If Nuss gets injured, we’re sunk

Ah, good to see you’re hitting your stride of being a total fricking idiot who’s obsessed with a position group you know dick about early in fall camp.

you dont have to worry about our return game. a lot of talented players to set up returns and the best return man in the history of the sec.

I said likely in with 3. Didn’t say anything about 4. And most assuredly didn’t suggest LSU is in over an undefeated or 1 loss team. Cute how you embellish

#1, I was watching clips on facebook of when Nuss did start running later in the season. He actually is athletic, so OP is an idiot. He is also pretty damn good at moving around in the pocket...which OP ignored as well.
Are you saying Nuss is a good running QB? If we have to rely on Nuss running the ball to win games, we're in trouble. You must be watching Daniels on film because that's a running QB! I'm excited to see Nuss because I think he's a very good QB but running is not his forte. Nuss is so slow, he makes Jared Lorenzen look like Usain Bolt!

I do think Brady deserves credit but the players do as well. We ran mainly 11 personnel but with the same players on the field we could move Moss or Edwards-Helaire out wide and go 4 wides or move both out wide and go five wide. Doing it with the same personnel gave the defense no chance to substitute. I remember Kirby talking about that after the SEC championship game and they had no answer for that. Credit to Slinger and Brady for taking advantage of that but they wouldn’t have been able to do that without the players with that versatility.

OL looks talented but we need to see it on the field
Time for OL to gel
Defense playing good gap D
Defense tackling better than past couple of years
Sloan's run play calling
12-0 and 8-4 are both possibilities.
