OU loves to live in the past, they always have. They‘ve played in a bad conference for years, and have benefited from it. They’ve also benefited from Texas being down. LSU is a better brand, over the last 20 years and they’re really about to separate themselves. Brian Kelly is going to take LSU to another level. “We” now have a coach that is capable of running the program, rather than running it in the ground.

From a brand equity perspective, they are both highly recognizable power programs in college football. When you consider the key metrics for brand value of LSU Football in the 21st century, the Tigers win the battle.

Truthfully, if your looking at football. Probably OU, not because of what they’ve done the last 20 years but because of what the sports writers say is the bigger brand. Truth be told most of these high school recruits are simple minded and it only takes one article to turn there heads one way or the other. If they payed true attention and studied the facts LSU would be the bigger brand by far. LSU has done far better in the last 10 years, actually the last 20 years by far. And it’s really not even a debate. Our progams alone will be top 5 without a doubt.

Recognizable? No i think they are equal on that regard. Recent success is a huge deal but past success should not be forgotten. That’s like saying Floyd mayweather was better than Muhammad Ali or rocky marciano...

LSU now. Once OU gets to the SEC we'll see. If they flop like we all think, they'll be finished as a brand. If they excel, they'll pass us.

Not just the championships, but the amount of talent LSU brought to the NFL in the last 20 years, kids recognize that.

Beatdowns don't build a brand, but it's probably too close to call. They have their beatdowns and we have our clowns for coaches and AD.
