Texas owned the money in the big 12 and they didn’t share. They had the longhorn network and made their own money deals. Because of that, they watched 8&4 and Nebraska leave the big 12 and let smaller less money making schools join. Who was the one school that followed them all the way including when they decided to move to the SEC? Oklahoma. Now Oklahoma wants to say they are the same level brand as lsu when they have been Texas’ bitch? Gtfo. Your brand name is on the same level as Arkansas.

“Brand” is a tough metric. LSU benefits from being in the SEC which is a WAY better brand than the Big 12. We are all over CBS and ESPN. Other than OU-Texas, does the casual fan get energized by OU - Baylor? That being said, you cannot take away that OU has won their Power 5 conference 14 years out of the last 20, including 2015-2020, and has had multiple Heisman winners. At this exact minute, I think Burrow, Chase and Jefferson have our “brand” way higher, not to mention the coach at ND, the highest brand there is, just asked to be our coach.

Duh, LSU all day. What has Oklahoma done in the last 20 years? One championship and alot of beatdowns by the SEC

In the last 20 years:
Oklahoma has zero football national championships, zero baseball national championships, and zero basketball national championships.

I’d say we’ve closed the gap a great bit but football didn’t start when we got good.

Remind me again … what State is Oklahoma in? Texas right?

OU is funny. I have to remember if it is Norman or Stillwater. To me the other Oklahoma is more relevant.

When your big time coach flees to the Pac12 because he doesn’t want to lose every weekend in the SEC that should be all you need to know.

Sooner or Later Oklahoma will only be known as a Mizzou’s little brother.

True but they also have been consistent in one of the top winning programs even though they have nothing to show for it. They've done it longer than LSU too so you might be able to argue they're a bigger brand. Wouldn't be much if they are though.

LSU. We do it across more sports. We have won more big games this century. The rest of the nation is intrigued by our culture. I’ve never heard anyone say, “I have to catch a game in Norman Ok.” This isn’t 1999 anymore.

College brands?

Notre Dame
Michigan
USC
Texas
Alabama

LSU and Oklahoma are in top 10 but not close with these guys.

Guess they figure they can't beat us they join us. They may never see another playoff game.

This century? LSU & it’s not close.

All-time? Probably OU with all their success in the Wilkinson & Switzerland years.

Totally agree.....OU was a powerhouse program for much of the last-half of the 20th century.....but the Sooners cannot compare to LSU in this one.....

I see this one as a push. We have a lot more recent success (when we go to the big dance, we usually win it) but they are a certified Blueblood who has managed to stay successful in the modern era (so not like a Nebraska)

If you had asked me this question even ten years ago I probably would’ve said Oklahoma begrudgingly. LSU’s brand is gaining momentum and I believe will be bigger in the Oklahoma SEC era. We will see though

When you hear National Pundits talk about what Game Day Experience is a must do, LSU is at the top of the list with Notre Dame, Ohio State, the Rose Bowl….never once heard Norman as a must do.

Honestly probably OU over the last 20 years

lolwut
Over the last 20 we've played for 4 national titles and won 3 of them. Maybe over the last 60 or 70 years OU has a bigger brand, but I couldn't call it being outright better than LSU's.

The question is about college football and not across the entire athletic department. You just saw a survey among high school kids that put OU's brand ahead of LSU in the national ranking. Don't act like OU is nothing. Even with their lack of NCs they've been a model of consistency winning in NCAA.

Shouldn't even be a question.......oops Justin Jefferson just scored again on the OU defense. LSU wins Championships in spite of who their coach is, that should tell you LSU is the bigger brand.

Yea, Oklahoma has like 4 or 5 losing seasons in the last 60 years. They are a powerhouse brand but so is LSU. The 2 are very comparable.
