People don't realize how close Saban and miles actually are. The mulligan was such a horrible screw job for LSU. Bama and Saban were out to destroy lsu. They took all that momentum into the recruiting year following with Landon Collins on national tv and all that BS
The last 2 years we should've won.
The last 2 years we should've won.

I think both are extraordinary, special coaches. Both styles are effective. I think the difference that puts Saban over the top is his GameDay coaching decisions under fire. 1/9 not withstanding, as LSU was overwhelmingly outclassed on the gameplan.

I would choose Miles if I had a son. He is what I would expect a father figure to be. Reminds me of my godfather. He would stick his neck on a chopping block for you and in return you would give your left nut for him. Nothing wrong with Saban if all you want is results on a field.

Miles if I'm a player who wants to be free of punishment. Saban for consistency.

Depends on what you're looking for in a coach. S is an azz...CLM is a players coach.....personally I prefer playing for an no nonsense azz because you always know where you stand.

I'd love to say who it was but it always caused a shite show on the recruiting board so I'll just leave names out of it (the step dad, not the recruit)
Are you from South Plaq

Read an article years ago which broke down the difference between the two.
Cliff notes are as follows;
Saban - Wears players down and burns them up with one goal in mind, a national championship for Bama.
Les Miles - Has teams that compete every single year. Prepares his players for the NFL.

Miles. Wouldn't trade him for two Sabans.

Saban. Saban doesn't need the top notch assistants as badly as Miles does.

4 championships trumps 1 championship. How is this even a topic.

Saban made better decisions the last four games when it mattered most. I don't think it's owing to approach away from the field. Without those wins, Alabama would only have one national championship since 1992.
Maybe, Chaivis made some of those poor decisions for Miles. (except the bcs championship nightmare) We had them beat with one plus minute to go, not once but twice and Chaivis's defensive calls (plus kiffins offensive calls) killed us. Go Tigers.

The one that's won 4 National Championships

Saban was a head coach for 20 years prior to getting the job at Alabama, and won one national championship in that time. He gets to Alabama and all of a sudden becomes this jedi level coach who always makes the right choices and anyone who even thinks they belong on the same field with him is an idiot..... ORRR..... there's a lot more to Alabama's national championships than who's coaching the team. Give me the easiest schedule in the SEC 20 years straight, boosters that do not care about NCAA bylaws, administration that does little to no policing at all, a conference in which every major position is held by an alumni, a family of television networks that will push any agenda to see you succeed, and I'd be willing to bet I could win a NC or two as head coach of the tide. Furthermore, look at it this way:
2011 The polls get it right, put Ok State in the BCS title game vs. us, we slaughter them. Les 2 NC's, and Saban has 2. Ohio State doesn't lose bowl eligibility in 2012 and they play ND for the national championship. Now, we'd be sitting here talking about how they have the same amount of nattys. Every ball bounces in their favor for SOME reason, and it's not just because Saban is so much better than everyone else. Look at the polls this year alone.. you think Alabama would be #4 if they were undefeated? If this were the BCS era, we could be very well looking at undefeated season without a shot at a title.

but I don't think I have ever heard any of his college players say a bad word about him.
You aren't listening... The list goes on, from both LSU and bama players... Matt Mauck is leading the campaign and has used the word "hate" when describing him...

Saban was also a DC of a cleveland defense that set records.
Let me see, Bear coached over a dozen years before he won a title. 1 at maryland, 7 at Kentucky, 3 at Texas A&M, and several at Bama before the first one.
Guess he sucked.

He does? I seem to remember Saban beating him in SECCG for one of his champeenships. They r probably close to even.
Let's be honest. If we were in combat, Saban is the s.o.b. We want leading us.
