Les seems to be more laid back in his approach while Saban is detailed to the "T". Which coaching style do you favor??

I don't know about coaching style, because neither has ever been my coach.

As far as coaching personality, you just can't beat Miles. It would probably be a joy playing for him.

As far as Saban, he is obviously way more dry in personality, but I don't think I have ever heard any of his college players say a bad word about him. Many of his players seem to look at him like a father, and testify to being better men when they leave the program.

You can't go wrong with either one of them, but if I had to pick one to play for with a gun to my head, I would pick Miles.

Saban made better decisions the last four games when it mattered most. I don't think it's owing to approach away from the field. Without those wins, Alabama would only have one national championship since 1992.

Can you blame them?

Depends. Saban definitely has the results, so if I were a non biased fan choosing a coach for my team, I would choose Saban. However, if I were a player choosing which coach to play for, I'd choose Miles. Saban just seems so businesslike in his approach, I feel like he'd be more likely to take the fun out of the game. Miles reminds me of the crazy JV basketball coach I played for in high school, and I've never had more fun doing anything in my life.

As a player, I would have picked miles without question.

He also reminds me of one of my coaches. Crazy guy from the bayou. I don't think he was a genius, but you sure wanted to work hard for him.

Their coaching philosophy and strategy are pretty similar... Dominant D and OL, power running game with vertical passing attack.

But they go about it 2 completely different ways.

Don't favor either 1. All about results and getting it done. And both have gotten great results.

In all honesty I know a player (for bama) that was heavily recruited by both coaches

It never made sense to me because he'd always gush about coach miles and have nothing but good things to say about him, however it really felt like his stepdad was pushing him hard to bama for some reason..

I'd love to say who it was but it always caused a shite show on the recruiting board so I'll just leave names out of it (the step dad, not the recruit)

Les. I love to see my team win, but I like to be able to enjoy it and to see the team enjoying it.

Both are great. Saban is probably a better coach at bama than he was when he was at LSU. Miles in retrospect was the perfect replacement for saban. It isn't common for a coachbto follow a legend and have a decade of success

I'm so sick of this crap. Trolls inviting the Saban cock riders to come out and slobber all over him. IT'S IRRELEVANT! Why the frick do we not have these stupid threads comparing coaches when we play anyone else? Because it doesn't matter. Miles is our coach, and let's go kick some Gump arse

Most years this game is called the "Game of the Year" or the Game of the Century" Bodes well for both. I choose Miles!
