The answer to this is Athens, GA, and I went to LSU. BR kinda sucks.

Baton Rouge is not a college town, it's a city that has a college in it.
Every SEC school is located in a city. Some are just smaller than others. When I think of a "college town", I define it in terms of how important the university is to the identity of the place where it's located. While BR would certainly continue to exist if LSU wasn't located there, the culture of the city would most definitely change. LSU is a very strong presence in BR. If you're looking for a quaint small city then Athens would win hands down. Oxford is way overrated.

For the life of me I can't understand why these threads pop up. It is an irrelevant internet poll on an obscure worthless site.
Why does it matter? Are you going to print the shirts?
Beetle Miss on the football field, court, and diamond. That is the only place that it matters

Athens is by far the best.

aren't "college towns" supposed to be like Starkville where there is nothing else except the school there?

Baton Rouge is a lot of things, college town isn't one of them. I think a basic test would be if you removed the university, what would the city have left? For BR it'd still be the capital of LA with a decent sized industrial center with oil and chemicals. If you removed the schools from Athens, Oxford, Auburn, etc.... you just have a small rural town.

Blacksburg is a total shithole. Worst college town I've been to.

What the hell is so great about Oxford?
It's a hassle to buy beer there, the bars close too early, and the girls are overrated. Just b/c you dress up all nice and put on makeup doesn't make you some southern beauty.
Ole Piss sucks.
And Athens should be the winner.
Why did they have Norman and Stillwater but not Austin?

Athens got beat out by Blacksburg?
Bracket automatically invalidated.
Blacksburg?!
I've been there twice. Decent town. Cool campus. But better than Athens? Sorry, but no.

They're not including cities with over 250k people hence no Austin or Nashville.
