Was at 1993 UF game Danny Wuerffel put a 58-3 whipping on us I think still stands as our worst beating in TS! Ouch!

Champ Bailey of Georgia playing both ways.
I think that game was at Georgia. I think the game against us here was pretty close.

I think it's Shaun Alexander then Rex Grossman.

Champ Bailey played both ways in 1998. The score was 28-27, but Carter destroyed us that day. Bailey had 2 rushes for 15 yds plus 7 catches, 114 yds and a TD. 9 touches for 129 yds and a TD.

Wuerffel was 14-18 for 221 and 4 TDs. UF QB's were 21 of 26 for 352 and 5 TD's that day. Wuerffel was a freshman, by the way.

Rex Grossman putting up 464 yards and 5TDs in 2001 stands out to me. Probably because I was there.

Not so sure about single game--but do anyone of you remember the name Julian Bond? He had our number!

A bit off topic but opposing QB's from every halfway decent squad seemed to just light up Death Valley 1990-2002ish. Since then it has not really been the case anymore.
Wuerffel, Grossman, Dameyeune Criag, Ben Leard, Patridge (Ole Miss), Jarious Jackson (ND), Stoerner, Romero Miller, Manning, Colorado St. Q. Carter,
It was such a breath of fresh air to have Saban arrive my 5th and final year of LSU and whip that vaunted Tiger D back into shape.

Is this something we really want to search our memories for? ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

Dinardo and Tepper and Thomas Dunson made Quincy Carter look like Tom Brady, Mike Vick and David Pollack rolled into one.
Freaking motor.

1966 Spurrier threw for like 250 yards against us. May not sound like a lot today but in 1966 250 passing yards was almost unheard of. He even completed a pass to a receiver who was laying flat on his back, for a first down.

given the circumstances (his youth vs. our defense), what Chris Leak did in 03 was pretty impressive. we sacked him a lot, and hit him more, but he made some nice passes when he had time to throw
Yes but how is that at all pertanent to this thread?

The year was 1975 and we were playing Texas A&M at home for about the 20 year in a row. They had beat us maybe twice in that 20 year home only series. I was a teenager and went to the game expecting another LSU beat down. Emory Bellard comes in with his wishbone attack and a 6', 280 lb fullback named George Woodard who ran a 9.9 100 yd dash in HS. The Aggies proceeded to put a 39-8 beat down on us piling up 403 yards rushing.
I'll admit George only had 100 something yards, but he did it on 6 carries and scored 3 TD's of 40, 40, & 60 yds on the damn FB dive play! They beat us so bad we cancelled the series!

Miami Hurricanes ??? That was hell sitting through a monsoon and watch theme run up and down the field.
It damn well was a hell of a lot of water coming down the steps ... that was 84 or 85 something like that.

Man, I'm glad the wishbone fad died out. LSU never did figure out how to stop that offense.

because it's one of the best single game performances I can remember.
18-30, 229 yds, 2TDs, 0 INTs vs. the nation's best D on their turf, and hanging the only loss on the eventual nat'l champ. in his 3rd start or so as a true freshman. burning some pretty good DBs and shaking off a nasty pass rush.
that better?
Posted on 10/7/11 at 4:28 pm to ATLTiger
i think it's a little better. wasn't really a dominant performance, just not expected at all for it to be that efficient or good given the circumstances
Posted on 10/7/11 at 4:45 pm to jhhingle
As a team - that 58-3 drubbing by Florida was the worst game I remember. We could have used 25 DBs and not stopped them. The defense was so bad that day. They had no idea where the WRs were.
As a single player - Alexander killed us. The same play over and over and over again. Zero adjustments on defense that night. After the first 150 yards, I would have put 11 men in the box and let anyone else beat us.
