I park on the other side of campus in the hood. Got to the Interstate in 10 mins.

I live in Lafayette. We park right outside the west gate of campus. Take a right on Nicholson towards downtown and jump on I10 west after the overpass. Typically at my front door in 1:30 on a busy game day.

I think you look to go West to get out easily where you want to go. Get there early, but up Nicholson to Aster before the Northern gates. It throws you into dorm parking going left, but free if early. If not, plenty of lots available down Nicholson or to right for a local "fee". Head north to bridge/downtown then back to I-12 after the game.

There's no good way to get to I-10 Eastbound on a normal day, let along leaving a game.

On the entrance ramp would be your best option.

If you go to downtown via River Road, make sure you make your way to I-110 and then go east on I-10. If you find yourself following traffic, you might end up in West Baton Rouge Parish.
I’d go south and get to Bluebonnet then I-10 west to I-12 then home.
Clarification: best bet to get to Bluebonnet is Nicholson. If you’re on River Road going south, you probably need to follow Google Maps after leaving the campus. As someone above said, it’s not easy getting to I-10 East on a normal day from that area.

park by the natatorium, and go Nicholson then to (right at the Pastime) St Agnes School, jump on i-110 then i-10.....zero traffic that way

Park anywhere North of Highland, and go north. Dalryample to government and maneuver from there. Has worked for me every time.
