Hahaha damn 21 plays, 97 yards in 18:52 is crazy. I wonder how that stacks up with the most time consuming drives in football history

2010 at Florida complete with Urban Meyer defiantly signaling 1st down Florida during the replay of a successful LSU fake FG.

Man I just looked it up and what I’m finding says that drive lasted 9:37. Still long, but not 18:52 long.

I also found that Navy had a 26 play drive that lasted 14:26 and resulted in a field goal. That is the longest drive on record, college or NFL.

The 18:52 in the ESPN box score is wrong - it was about 10 minutes but still an awesome drive. From LSU:

2nd 10:29 LS - Eric Edwards 4 yd pass from Matt Mauck (Ryan Gaudet kick), 21-97 9:37, LS 13 - SC 0

Because of the significance of the game, I nominate the 10 play, 91 yard drive ending with a 39 yard TD pass from Jamarcus to Doucet vs Arizona State. This was in September of 2005, right after Katrina. This was Les Miles debut and was supposed to be in Baton Rouge. However due to Katrina, the Tigers headed out west. Early Doucet dropped passes for three quarters and looked dazed and confused (as many of us were back then). However, he high pointed the throw in the left front corner of the end zone with 1:13 left. Jamarcus scrambled around like a man possessed and launched a missle to Early for the game winner. LaRon Landry and Ronnie Prude made stops on 3rd and 4th down to essentially end the game with :31 seconds left. The Tigers scored 4 TDs in the 4th quarter after sleepwalking thru 3 quarters.

That was an insane game as Mario Stevenson returned a blocked field goal 55 yards for a score and Craig Steltz returned a blocked punt 29 yards for a score moments later. We all needed something to be happy about that day and the Tigers came through for us.

Neyland 2006. Jamarcus led a legendary 80 yard drive to beat a top 10 team on the road with a last second TD pass to Early Doucet. One of the best come from behind drives I can remember.

One of THE best drives in the last 20 years of LSU football, if not longer. Les's shitty clock management forced LSU to burn 2 timeouts (to avoid penalties) and their lack of urgency made it a de facto do or die drive even though they started the drive with 7:00+ minutes to play and all 3 timeouts.

Russell, who was equal parts great and terrible that day (3 INT's), never flinched on that drive. That included hitting Doucet in an almost non-existent throwing window to convert a 4th and 8 LSU had to go for because they had foolishly already burned two TO's on the drive.

It was one of the early hallmarks of what would define the Miles era. Tension filled end of game scenarios wrought with chaos, reckless clock management, incredible risks and brilliant clutch play

An oft-overlooked drive: the final series to win the 2001 Kentucky game, culminating in a Davey to Clayton TD pass. Without that drive, we don't win the 2001 SECCG and the direction of the program is forever changed.

Both 4th quarter drives against Bama last season. Both times Bama had pulled within 1 score and both times went on 75 yard drives to extend the lead.

This is correct. The drive started on our 3 yard line with 5:06 to go in the 1st. We scored with 10:29 to go in the 2nd. Converted one 4th down.

This one gets bonus points because of the nifty no look FG fake with Josh Jasper!

had us wondering if there would have be been time on the clock left if they didn't connect.

Ehhhh every bit of 3 seconds left if incomplete. Hat had it figured to the second.

1) Final drive LSU-OM '72. Bert-to-Brad with :01 on the clock FTW. Still a kid and listening on radio but I was running around our house at 10PM yelling and rolling around on the floor! Euphoria!

Actually there was 0:00 on the clock after the play. There was .01 remaining on the LeDoux incompletion the play before..
And yes the band did have great seats bordering the 50 and our seats were right behind them. Great atmosphere.

My favorite - Dash Right 93 Berlin. Two play drive.

Not one of ultimately huge significance long term but Jennings coming in for a hurt mett starting at about the one and going the distance to win it vrs arky looked like we were going to do great things with him next year. Still an impressive drive for him, but ended up losing most of its luster over the next few years.

And then the pass by Lee to Toliver on a fade pass fails and then we go right back to the same play and an incredible catch by Toliver with only 6 seconds left in the game.

Definitely a top 10 finish for an LSU game.

Yeah that was really incredible and so unlikely.

And we thought we had a great QB for the next 3 years. Not to be.
